犬の散歩目的で近くの河原を散策しました。陽射しがなく寒い週末になっています。河原には遊歩道があり安心して犬を歩かせることができます。大きな鯉が泳いでいました。そしてカワセミやサギの姿をみることもできてラッキーな気分です。小さな魚を狙っている彼らの姿を見ていると時間が経つのを忘れてしまいました。

私は必ずノートを持ってメモをとるようにしている。会議の時、人との話し合いの場など、書き留めておくことを習慣としている。ノートは A5 版の大きさを使い、見開きでコピー機にかければちょうど A4 用紙が使えて便利である。話をしながら、説明する時も、言葉だけで無く、ちょっとした図があると意思疎通が良くなる。ノートは A5 版だとある程度選択の幅が広がる、私はコクヨの Canpus シリーズを愛用している。さて、ペンであるが、長いこと愛用してきたパーカーの万年筆からモンブランに交替しようと考えた。理由は無いが、気分転換が目的である。しかし、このモンブランのインクとコクヨの紙の相性が非常に悪く、インクが弾かれてしまう。これまでの万年筆が忘れないで欲しいと言っているようで、今しばらく愛用を続けよう。結果、 2 本の万年筆を持ち歩く羽目となった。

短かった北米出張、今日の朝の会議を終えて帰国の途につきます。この 2 日間はニュージャージー北部に滞在していました。幸いにも雪や雨に降られずに済みそうです。久しぶりに来ました。米国の雰囲気を思い出す良い機会になりました。人は皆表現が豊かです。良く話します。まるで話すことが生きている証のようにさえ感じられました。普段は静かな私たちにとっては賑やかなレストランでの食事も少し閉口します。しかし、言葉に出さなければ伝わらないこと、言葉だけでも伝わらないこと、そんなことを考えさせられるこの数日でした。海の向こうから電話会議などで伝えようとしていますが、どうしても面と向かって言葉と表現で伝えることが最高の機会となっています。

今日はミネアポリスからニューヨークへの移動日となります。2 泊という短期間の滞在でした。幸いにも大雪になることは無く、全ての行程を順調に終えることができました。今回、Uber というアプリケーションを使って配車を依頼する手段で移動を行いました。シンガポールの Grab 同様、我々にとっては便利な移動手段となっています。北米ではチップの習慣が残っています。Uber ではチップの設定も可能で合計した金額をクレジットカードから引き落とすことができて便利です。降車した後、ドラーバーの評価と同時にチップのレートを決めることができます。新しいことを知ることができた旅でした。

何年ぶりになるだろうか、しばらくの間北米に来ていませんでした。日本は成人の日の祝日、その夕方の便で成田からシカゴへ入りました。アメリカ合衆国への入国には事前に ESTA というシステムを使って登録する必要があります。前回のものが期限切れになっていたので再申請をしました。入国審査には時間が掛かると言われて来ましたがパスポートをスキャンして指紋と顔写真を撮り審査官の所へ。入国の目的などを聞かれて再度指紋と顔写真、15 分程度で審査場を抜けることができました。手荷物を受け取り、国内線のチェックインを済ませて乗り継ぎのターミナルへバスで移動です。確かトラムがあったと記憶していますが今日はバスでした。久しぶりの米国、移動が多く忙しい週ですが少しは楽しむことができればと思います。シカゴからミネアポリスへ移動してそこで 2 泊します。この時期に心配なのは豪雪ですが、今週は大丈夫なようで安心しました。

寒い冬なのですが、今年は比較的気温が高く助かっています。陽の暖かさに誘われてクルミを連れて公園を散歩しました。犬を連れた人と会話を楽しむこともできました。10 歳となったクルミですが、歳の割には若く見られる顔をしたクルミは 10 歳と聞くと驚く人が多いようです。たくさん歩いたクルミは夕方にかけてぐっすりと眠り込んでいます。公園ではこの週末に行われる「どんど焼き」の準備が進んでいました。

2012年版の Z4 に乗っています。リアミラーですが、自動防眩ミラーになっていますが、オープンカーの宿命かも知れませんが、後方からのヘッドライトの光がうまくセンサーに入りません。夜は後方からの車両が近いと眩しくて困っていました。そこでリアウィンドウにフィルムを貼って対策することとしました。昼間の視界が少し暗くなってしまいますが、これで夜間走行も快適になりました。

2019年、令和元年が行き過ぎようとしています。ここ数年のことですが、今年も記録的な豪雨や台風の被害が日本にもたらされました、毎年異常化していく天候を考えると心配になります。2020年は穏やかであることを願って止みません。今年はポケモンを始めた年でした。4月にアプリケーションを入れて以来、ポケモンのことで追いかけられたような気がします。しかし、おかげで多くの距離を歩くことができました。毎週平均 50km を歩いています。健康に良いことなのですが、スマホの画面を見つめる時間が増えたことはその反面、良く無いことかもしれません。2020年、みなさんにとって良い年となりますことを心から願います。
In 2019, the first year of Reiwa is about to finish. 朝カーテンを開けて驚きました。昨夜は深夜まで雨でしたが明け方の気温低下で雪に変わり、庭は初冠雪となりました。今年から雪の日は車の運転をやめようと思い、タイヤ交換をしませんでした。そんなことを決めた日にこの天気、まるでタイヤ交換を薦めているかのようでした。
