今週月曜に出て金曜に帰る香港出張を終えました。デモの騒ぎがあるので家族からは心配されていましたが、現地の関係者とも連絡を取り合い、週末の空港利用を避けるようにして行ってきました。このような状況なので、市内観光はあきらめて、帰りの日も数時間を空港で暇つぶしする次第でした。出張期間中何も無く、無事に帰国しています。会社の関係者と会食する機会がありましたが、マスコミが報道する内容が香港全土に広がっているかのような錯覚を与えていることがわかります。観光客も減り、飛行機の便数も減ったとか聞きますが、早く情勢が安定し、経済への影響も無くなることを願う次第です。
I finished my Hong Kong business trip this Monday and return Friday. I was worried by my family because of the protests, but I kept in touch with local stakeholders to avoid using the airport on weekends. Given this situation, I gave up sightseeing in the city and had to spend several hours at the airport on my return day. I have not returned anything during my business trip. I had a chance to have a dinner with a company stakeholder, but I can see that the media reports give the illusion of spreading throughout Hong Kong. We hear that the number of tourists has decreased and the number of flights has decreased, but we hope that the situation will stabilize quickly and that there will be no impact on the economy.
