今日は今シーズン初の芝刈りをしました。雑草も目立ってきたので一気に刈り取りました。これから芝刈りのシーズンが始まります。クルミくんは今日も元気に過ごしていました。のんびりとした時間を楽しむことができた土曜日でした。
Today I mowed the lawn for the first time this season. Weeds were becoming noticeable, so I mowed the lawn in one fell swoop. The mowing season is about to begin. Kurumi was in good spirits today. It was a relaxing Saturday.
会社からの帰り道、車ディーラーの N さんと会って近況を話し合ってきました。最初に N さんから車を紹介されたのは随分前のことになります。それ依頼、今の車まで紹介していただきました。営業担当として長い期間、話し相手になっていただいていることに感謝します。今でもまだ新車の納期は確約できない状況のようです。そして電気自動車を求める顧客が増えてきたことを知りました。お客様が増えて、今後の車に新しい技術が盛り込まれることを期待しています。クルミくんは今日も食欲旺盛、元気に過ごしていました。
On my way home from work, I met with Mr. N, a car dealer, to discuss recent developments. It was a long time ago when Mr. N first introduced me to cars. He even introduced me to my current car. I would like to thank Mr. N for being my sales representative for a long time. Even now, it seems that the delivery date of the new car is still not assured. And I have learned that more and more customers are looking for electric cars. We hope that the number of customers will increase and that new technologies will be incorporated into future cars. Kurumi had a good appetite and was in good spirits today.
今日は妻の妹が遊びに来ました。クルミくんもお客様が来ると嬉しそうにしています。昼食は近くの中華料理店に行って食べました。とても美味しい料理を提供してくれるこの店が私たちの好みになっています。そして中華は人数が多いほど多くの味が試せるので良いものです。今日もクルミくんと一緒に過ごすことができました。
My wife’s sister came to visit today. Kurumi looks happy to have guests. We went to a nearby Chinese restaurant for lunch. This restaurant, which serves very good food, has become our favorite. And Chinese food is good because the more people we have, the more flavors we can try. We had a great time with Kurumi today as well.
Audible というアプリで本の朗読を聞くようになって 3 冊目になりました。私にとって、このアプリはとても便利です。サブスクリプションなので定額で月に何冊でも読むことができます。また、少し聴いてみて興味がなければ聞くのを止めることができます。今はある宇宙飛行士の体験を聴いています。車の中でも聞けるので助かります。クルミくんは今日も元気に過ごしていました。私は仕事で外出していたので遊ぶ時間を長くは取れませんでした。
This is the third book I have started listening to readings from an app called Audible. For me, this app is very convenient. It is a subscription, so I can read as many books per month as I want for a fixed price. Also, I can stop listening if I am not interested after listening to a few. Right now I am listening to an astronaut’s experience. It is helpful because I can listen to it in the car. Kurumi was doing well today. I was out of town for work, so I didn’t get to spend much time playing with him.
今朝早くに小鳥たちが巣立って行ったようです。静かになった巣箱はどことなく寂しそうです。鳥の一家がこの巣箱にいた時間の短さに少し驚かされました。あの一家は今、何処にいるのでしょうか、元気に暮らしていることを祈ります。クルミくんは今日も元気に過ごしています。いつものように食べて、寝ています。
It seems that the birds left the nest early this morning. The quiet nest box looks somewhat lonely. I was a little surprised at how short time the family of birds spent in the nest box. I wonder where they are now, and I hope they are doing well. Kurumi is doing well today. He is eating and sleeping well as usual.
クルミくんは今日も私たちと一緒に元気に過ごしています。クルミくんが起きている間は甘えん坊をしてくるので困ってしまう時があります。でも一緒に過ごしていると楽しいことが多くあって笑顔が絶えません。クルミくんに感謝です。
Kurumi is spending a healthy day with us today. Kurumi sometimes gets into trouble because he spoils us while he is awake. But we have a lot of fun together, and we never stop smiling. Thank you, Kurumi!
5 月の第二日曜日は母の日です。シンガポールに住む息子は毎年プレゼントを贈ってくれます。嬉しい限りです。私も日頃の感謝を込めて小さなケーキをお茶の時間に用意しました。午後、ケーキを買いに出かけたのですが、既に多くの商品は売り切れになっていました。どの家庭でも今日は感謝の気持ちがいっぱいになっていることでしょう。庭の巣箱からの囀りはずいぶんしっかりしてきました。何羽の小鳥が入っているのか分かりませんが、毎日、親鳥は忙しく餌を運んできます。素早い動きなので鳥の姿を写真に撮ることができません。多く撮影した中から飛び立つ姿を見ることができました。クルミくんは今日も元気に過ごしています。暗い部屋では彼の目が白濁してきていることがよく分かります。
The second Sunday in May is Mother’s Day. My son he lives in Singapore gives gifts every year. I am very happy. I also prepared a small cake for tea time as a token of my appreciation. In the afternoon, I went out to buy a cake, but many items were already sold out. I am sure every family is full of gratitude today. The chirping from the birdhouse in the garden has become much more robust. I don’t know how many little birds are in there, but every day the parents are busy bringing in food. The birds move so quickly that it is impossible to take pictures of them. I was able to see the bird fly away from the many photos I took. Kurumi is doing well today. In the dark room, I can clearly see that his eyes are becoming cloudy.
今日は気持ちよく晴れた一日でした。午後からは強い南風が吹いてきましたが、夕方にはその風も止んでいます。あやめが綺麗に咲いていました。クルミくんは今日も元気に遊んでいます。
Today was a pleasantly sunny day. A strong southerly wind blew in the afternoon, but it stopped in the evening. The irises were blooming beautifully. Kurumi is playing energetically today.
来月 70 歳になる私たち夫婦にとって、時々、将来の姿を考えさせられています。人生の終焉を迎える日は遠くありませんが、それがどのくらい先になるのか知る由もありません。そんな私たちに郵送で資料が送られてきました。まだ必要ないと思っていてもすぐにその時がくるのかも知れません。クルミくんはそんな心配をしなくても良いので幸せです。
For my wife and I, who will turn 70 next month, we are sometimes forced to contemplate what the future holds. The day when we reach the end of our lives is not far away, but we have no way of knowing how long it will be. Then we receive materials in the mail. Even if we think we don’t need them yet, the time may come soon. Kurumi is happy because he doesn’t have to worry about that.
今日の午後、可愛らしいお客様が来ました。クルミくんのおもちゃで遊んでいるとクルミくんも遊び始めました。クルミくんは誰かと一緒でないとおもちゃで遊ばなくなってしまいました。私は長編本を聴いています。上巻は朗読で 10 時間ですが、時間のある時に少しずつ聴いているので、もう直ぐ終わってしまいます。この下巻も朗読で聴いてみようと思います。
We had a lovely visitor this afternoon. She was playing with Kurumi’s toys and Kurumi started playing with her too. Kurumi no longer plays with his toys unless he is with someone else. I am listening to a full-length book. The first volume is 10 hours long, but I listen to it little by little whenever I have time, so it will soon be finished. I am trying to listen to the second volume as well.
