今年も暑い夏となりました。毎年記録が更新されるようです。暦の上では秋なのですが、厳しい残暑が続いています。庭のバードバスに鳩が水浴びに来ました。雀も多く来ては水浴びをしたり砂浴びをしたりしています。早く涼しくなると良いですが、夏は熱中症に気をつけながら暑さを感じて生活するのも良いと思います。一日中エアコンが効いた室内に籠もっていると身体が冷え切ってしまいます。それでも朝夕は少し過ごしやすくなりました。

It’s good to cool down quickly, but in the summer, it’s also good to feel the heat while living with heat stroke. If you stay in an air-conditioned room all day long, your body will feel cold. Still, morning and evening became a little easier to spend.

私はスマホの保護カバーや保護フィルムを付けずに使っていますが、画面に傷が付いてしまいます。そこで液体ガラスによるコーティングを施工してもらいました。テレビでも紹介されていましたが、かなりの硬度があり鍵などによる傷がつきにくいとのことです。塗布直後から硬化が始まり、数日で 9H 程度の硬さになるそうです。このお店では 20 分ほどの時間で作業を終えてくれました。同じビルに入っている献血センターで献血をしている間に作業してもらいました。効果が楽しみです。

Curing starts immediately after application and reaches a hardness of about 9H within a few days. It took me about 20 minutes to finish the work. I had them work while donating blood at a blood donation center in the same building. I am looking forward to the effect.

今週は雷雨の日に停電しました。この時のために NAS は UPS で保護していますが、ネットワーク関連もまとめて保護してみることにしました。停電してしまえばテレビなどは見られなくなるのですが、パソコンでの作業を続けることを考えて配線を変更してみました。自宅にはメインのルーター (PR-500) と最近導入した Mesh WiFi 用のルーター (RT-AX92U) があります。これらも UPS の近くに移動して再配線、完了しました。猛暑続きなので、小型のファンで空気の流れを作ってやりました。さて、これでいつでも停電しても安心です。ところで、ルーターを 2 台このように接続しても問題ないことと、RT-AX92U が持つ機能を活用できることを確認しています。PR-500 は光テレビ、光電話を使う上では逃げることができず、半分は仕方なく使っています。IPv6 接続のサービスも受けられるのでこのラインはネットテレビ用にテレビに直接配線しています。

This week there were a few power outages on a thunderstorm day. The NAS is protected by UPS for this time, but I decided to protect the network as well. If there is a power outage, I won’t be able to see the TV, but I changed the wiring in order to continue working on the PC. At home, I have a main router (PR-500) and a recently installed the router for Mesh WiFi (RT-AX92U). These were also moved near the UPS and re-wired. It was a hot summer, so I use a small fan to create the flow of air for those equipment. Now, it is safe to have a power failure at any time. By the way, I have confirmed that there are no problems with connecting two routers in this way and that the functions of the RT-AX92U can be utilized. The PR-500 cannot be escaped when using optical TVs and optical telephones, so need to use this anyway. Since IPv6 connection service is also available, this line is wired directly to the TV for net TV.

連日暑い日が続いています。今年は梅雨が長く、雨が多く降ったために草木の生育が良いと思います。庭のキンカンの木、ふと見ると生まれたばかりの蝶が羽を延していました。そして例年にない花の多さです。香りも強く、とても癒される香りを楽しむことができます。近くの公園の椎木には実がとてもたくさん実っています。まだ青いどんぐりが秋には道を埋め尽くすことでしょう。夕方は雷雨でした、秋の足音が近づいているような気がします。夜、流れ星が見られる日なのですが、それまでに晴れてくれることを願います。

Hot days continue every day. This year, the rainy season is long and it rains a lot, so I think the growth of plants is good. A kumquat tree in the garden, a butterfly just born was spreading its wings. And there are more flowers than ever. It has a strong scent and I can enjoy a very relaxing scent. The trees in the nearby park are very fruity. The blue acorns now will fill the road in autumn. It was a thunderstorm in the afternoon, and I feel that autumn is approaching already. It is a night when we can see shooting stars, but I hope it will clear up by then.

20年前に購入した食器棚の修理をしました。今年の梅雨が長かったためか、木製の家具は湿気の影響でしょうか、最近、可動部分の動きに違和感を感じていました。そして今日、ついに樹脂製のヒンジ部が破損してしまいました。大型家具なので修理となると誰かに来て頂かなければなりません。そこで修理に挑戦してみました。破損した樹脂のパーツを慎重に取り出して瞬間接着剤で接合、全体を少しやすって動きやすくしてみました。メーカーには修理の問合せメールを送っておきました。この部品だけでも手に入れておこうと思います。気に入っている家具なので、これからも永く使いたいと思います。

I repaired a cupboard I bought around 20 years ago. Perhaps because of the long rainy season this year, maybe the wooden furniture is affected by moisture, and recently I’ve been feeling strange about the movement of the moving parts. And today, the hinge made of resin has finally broken. Since it is a large piece of furniture, someone must come to repair it. So I tried to repair it. I carefully took out the broken resin parts and joined them with an instant adhesive, and tried to make it easier to move by slightly sanding the whole. I sent a repair inquiry mail to the manufacturer. I will get this part alone to replace. I like it, so I would like to use it for a long time.

長かった雨の季節が終わったと思ったら猛暑の日々です。昨夜は熱帯夜となり、エアコンが無いと熟睡できなかったと思います。この暑い夏はしばらく続くことになるようですが、暦の上では秋になりました。四季がある日本に生まれて育ってきました。季節毎に異なる花々や食べ物が楽しめることに感謝します。今年発生した新型コロナウイルスの感染により、昔と同じような生活はできませんが、ピンチはチャンスと捉えて強く生きる私たち人間の素晴らしさもこの年齢で体験することができました。暑い時期は暑さを楽しんで生活します。そして秋、冬を待ち遠しく思います。

After the long long rainy season is over, now it has been hot days. Last night was a sweltering night, and I think I couldn’t sleep well without an air conditioner. It seems that this hot summer will continue for a while, but on the calendar it has become autumn already. I was born and living in Japan, here has four seasons. Thanks for enjoying the flowers and food that are different for each season. Due to the new coronavirus infection this year, we will not be able to live the same way as we used to, but we were able to experience the excellence of us human beings who live strongly as a chance. During the hot season, we enjoy the heat and live our lives. And I look forward to autumn and winter.

企業で働いているとどうしても Windows の環境に染まってしまいます。自宅では Apple Mac を使っているので、仮想的に Windows を動作させる Parallels というアプリケーションを導入して Mac OS と Windows を切り替えて業務をしています。しかし、Paralles から Windows 側のアプリケーション、特に Teams などでオンライン会議をすると電力の消費が非常に大きく、CPU の発熱も大きくなり冷却のファンが唸ってしまいます。そこで、極力 Mac OS 側だけで業務をやってみるようにしました。VPN 接続、Safari の環境設定などを終えて、今日は Windows を起動していません。最近は Cloud 環境を使った Web ベースの情報交換となっていることもこれを可能にしてくれています。

When I work for a company, I’m really absorbed in the Windows environment. Since I use an Apple Mac at home, I have installed an application called Parallels that virtually runs Windows and switched between Mac OS and Windows to work. However, when online conferences are performed from Parallels using Windows applications, especially Teams, power consumption is extremely high, CPU heat also increases, and the cooling fan growls. Therefore, I tried to work only on the Mac OS side. I haven’t started Windows today after completing the VPN connection, Safari preferences, etc. The recent exchange of Web based information using the Cloud environment has made this possible.

平年より11日も遅かったそうです、今日、この地域がやっと梅雨明けしました。長い間雨が降ったので今日の晴れ間は本当に嬉しいです。セミも一気に鳴き出して本格的な夏が来ました。一方で、東京の新規感染者の数は増加する一方で、飲食店の営業時間短縮が来週からまた要請されることとなります。毎日、多くの人が感染していることをニュースで聞く度に心配になってしまいます。この夏も旅行はしません。なるべく自宅近くで過ごすこととしましょう。

It’s been raining for a long time, so I’m really happy during the fine weather today. The cicadas began to sing like they have been waiting this time, and the summer came now. On the other hand, while the number of newly infected people in Tokyo have been increasing, it will be requested again from next week to shorten the business hours of restaurants. Every day, every time I hear the news that many people are infected, I get worried. I will not travel this summer anyhow. Let’s spend time as close to home as possible.

昨日時点で私が住む東京における新型コロナウィルスの感染者数が 10,000 人を超えました。東京の人口は 930万人ですから実に 1,000 人に一人の割合になります。検査対象者の人数が増えていることもあるのでしょうが、確実に感染は広がっています。ワクチンや薬の開発は進んでいるものの、まだ時間がかかるようです。このまま、感染せずに生活できるように気を付ける必要があります。日本はこの週末 4 連休で、旅行する人も多いようです。安全、安心な生活を望んでやみません。

The number of people to be tested may be increasing, but the infection is definitely spreading. Development of vaccines and drugs is in progress, but it seems that it still takes time. We need to be careful so that we can live without being infected. It seems that many people travel in Japan on four days this weekend. I just want to live a safe and secure life.

今月に入って毎日雨が続いてきましたが、今日は久しぶりに晴れ間を見ることができました。空が青いと気分もよくなってきます。早朝の散歩も気持ち良いです。今年は例年に無く梅雨の季節が長引いています。予報では月末まで続くことを言っていますが、早くカラッと晴れた夏空になってもらいたいと思います。散歩から帰って庭の手入れをしていたら面白い模様の蜘蛛の巣を見つけました。アレっと目を引きます。これも虫を捉える工夫なのでしょうか？思わず写真に納めてしまいました。

When I returned from my walk and cared for the garden, I found a spider net with an interesting pattern. It catches my eye. Is this also a device to catch insects?
