今日は仕事と家事に追われてしまい、クルミと遊ぶ時間は持てませんでした。食料品を買いに出かけたのですが、売り場ではたくさんの食材に困ってしまいました。妻が買っていたものと同じものを探すのですが、こんなにも多くの種類があるものかと改めて驚きました。これはとても幸せなことなのです。夕食を終えて食器を片付けたらクルミは眠っていました。

I was so busy with work and housework today that I didn’t have time to play with Kurumi. I went out to buy groceries, but I was at a loss for a lot of choices at the shop floor. I’m looking for the same one that my wife bought, but I was surprised again that there are so many kinds. This makes us very happy, I am sure. When I finished dinner, wash and put away the dishes, Kurumi was asleep already.

庭のバードバスにも氷が張るくらい今朝は冷え込みました。そして昼過ぎまでこの氷は溶けずに残っていました。今日はクルミのトリミングの日、顔の周りの毛も短くしてもらいさっぱりしました。トリマーさんはクルミの耳に異常を見つけてくれたので、午後は獣医さんにも行ってきました。薬を耳に入れてもらいました。また来週、診せてくださいとのことです。最近、クルミは耳をよく掻いていたので早く獣医さんに診てもらうべきでした。耳や顔の近くを世話されるのが嫌いなのはクルミの耳が聞こえないのが原因だろうと、獣医さんは言っていました。

It was so cold this morning that the bird bath in the garden was covered with ice. And this ice remained without melting until the afternoon. Today Kurumi had trimming. The trimmer found something wrong with Kurumi’s ear, so I went to the vet this afternoon. Kurumi had the medicine put in his ear. The vet asked, please check again next week. Kurumi has been scratching his ears a lot these days, so I should have taken him to the vet sooner. The vet said Kurumi’s deafness may be the reason why he doesn’t like being tended near his ears or face.

週末は特に時間が早く過ぎていくように思えます。やりたいことができないうちに今日も陽が暮れてしまいました。それでも苦手な問題に取り組む時間が持てて有意義な日曜日でした。最近、クルミは外にでたがりません。気温が低いことを知っているかのようです。そして眠くなると私の膝の上で丸くなって眠ってしまいます。今週は妻の事故がありました。妻も私も反省することが少なくありません。これからは特に気をつけて生活しなければいけません。あの程度で済んだことは不幸中の幸いだったのでしょう。起きてしまったことを悔やむよりも前向きに考えたいです。

Time on the weekends seem to fly by especially quickly. The sun went down already before I could do what I wanted to do. Still, it was a meaningful Sunday because I had time to tackle the cases I was not good at. Kurumi is reluctant to go outside these days. It’s as if he knows the temperature is low. And when he gets sleepy, he curls up on my lap and falls asleep. My wife had an accident this week. My wife and I often reflect on this. From now on, I have to be especially careful. It must have been a blessing in misfortune that it ended at that level. I want to think positively rather than regret what happened.

クルミは顔の周りのブラッシングを極端に嫌います。あまり無理をしてはいけないのでゆっくりと世話をしますが、どうしてもブラッシングをやらせてくれないので最後は諦めてしまいました。幸い、クルミは短く毛をカットしてもらっているので毛が絡まることはないので助かります。明日もまたゆっくりと世話をしてみます。
今日は義理の妹が来て私たちのために家事を手伝ってくれました。妻の髪を洗って、この先数日分の料理をして、とても助かりました。妻も久しぶりにサッパリしたのですが、痛みがひどいので疲れてしまったようです。

Kurumi extremely dislike brushing around his face. I don’t want to overdo it, so I take care of him slowly, but he won’t let me brush him anyway, so I gave up in the end. Luckily, Kurumi has his hair cut short, so it doesn’t get tangled. I will try to take care of it tomorrow as well.
Today my sister-in-law came to help us with the housework. Washing my wife’s hair and cooking for the next few days was a big help. My wife felt refreshed for the first time in a while, but she seems to be tired because the pain is so bad.

電気工事士の技能試験では自分の工具を使って配線作業を行います。制限時間は 40 分、与えられた部品を使って配線図通りになるように作業を行います。過去に出た問題から出題されるので、13 の問題について取り組んでいます。比較的簡単な問題だと 30 分以内にできるのですが、複雑なものになると心配です。残された時間、継続して練習します。
クルミは私が世話をするようになって少し慣れてきたようです。明日はもう少し上手にブラッシングをしてあげます。

In the electrician skill test, I will use my own tools to perform wiring work. The time limit is 40 minutes, and the work is done according to the wiring diagram using the given parts. I am working on 13 cases because the tests are based on the cases that came out in the past. I can do a relatively simple problem within 30 minutes, but I’m worried about a complicated one. Keep practicing for the rest of my time.
Kurumi seems to have taken a little getting used to since I started taking care of him. I will brush him a little better tomorrow.

妻に代わって家事に明け暮れた日、一番長く時間を費やした場所はキッチンでした。食事の用意から食器の片付けまで、終わってみると足が疲れ果てていました。妻の有り難さを身に染みて感じています。明日はもっと効率的に食事の支度ができるように挑戦です。
クルミは私が世話をするようになって少し戸惑っているようです。朝の支度、日に 3 度の食事、どうして私がやっているのか、きっと不思議なのでしょう。クルミを少しでも外に出してやろうと思って気づいたら 4 時、既に陽は西に傾いていました。少し遊んだだけで寒かったのかクルミは家の中に逃げ込んでいきました。

The kitchen was the place I spent the most time on the day I spent all my time doing housework for my wife. From preparing the food to clearing the dishes, my legs were exhausted when I finished. I really feel how grateful I am for my wife. Tomorrow is a challenge to be able to prepare meals more efficiently.
Kurumi seems a little confused that I have come to care for him. Getting ready in the morning, eating three times a day, he must be wondering why I do this. Just as I was about to get Kurumi outside, I realized it was 4:00 already and the sun was already setting in the west. He ran into the house because it was cold just playing for a while.

クルミを連れて公園を散歩しました。少し風がありましたが陽射しが暖かく、クルミもたくさん歩くことができました。平日の公園は人があまりいません。子供達もいないので遊具を使うことができました。私が試した後に妻もぶら下がったのですが、落ちてしまい、妻は左肩を負傷してしまいました。気づけば 68 歳の私たちです。体力を過信していたのかも知れません。この先、妻を介護しながら回復を待ちます。

We took Kurumi for a walk in the park. It was a little windy, but the sun was warm and We were able to walk a lot with Kurumi. There are not many people in the park on weekdays. We didn’t have children so we were able to use the playground equipment. After I tried it, my wife also hung, but she fell and injured her left shoulder. Yes, we are 68 years old already. We may have overestimated our strength. From now on, I will wait for recovery while taking care of my wife.

今日は朝から冷たい雨が降る寒い一日となりました。午後には雨も上がり、少し陽射しがありましたが、気温は上がらず、早くから薪ストーブを使って暖かくしました。私は一日中リモートワークの日で、一歩も外に出ることはありませんでした。気がつけば外は暗くなっていて、陽が短くなったことを感じています。

It’s been a cold day with cold rain since the morning today. The rain stopped in the afternoon and there was some sunshine, but the temperature did not rise, so I used the wood stove early to keep warm. It was a remote work day all day and I never stepped outside. When I looked outside, it was getting dark already and I felt that the day time was getting shorter.

政府は今、将来の防衛費予算を増大しようとしています。その財源について議論されていますが、その多くが税金から賄われそうです。防衛費は敵が攻撃してきた時のことを考えて設備や武器を用意することに使われることになります。各国が攻撃することをやめてしまえば、世界各国で防衛費を使わずに済みます。その予算を国民の生活のために使えます。
クルミと庭で少しの時間ですが遊ぶことができました。陽が陰ると気温が直ぐに下がってしまいます。今日も夕方から薪ストーブで部屋を温めています。

The government is now looking to increase future defense budgets. Its funding is debated, but much of it is likely to come from taxes. Defense expenses will be used to prepare equipment and weapons in case the enemy attacks. If countries stop attacking, countries around the world will not need to spend on defense. The budget can be used for the livelihood of the people.
I was able to play with Kurumi in the garden for a little while. When the sun goes down, the temperature drops quickly. I’m warming up our room with a firewood stove from the evening again today.

気付けば今日は 12月11日、今年も残すところ 20日となりました。最近は年の瀬を感じることが少なくなった気がします。気温が高いからなのかも知れません。今日も昼間は暖かく、妻と買い物の途中、最近開業した施設を訪れることができました。市の施設で、今後、多くの人を招く催し物を計画していくようです。私たちはその施設にある甘味処で休憩しました。
このところ安定しているクルミは今日も元気に過ごしています。午後は陽の暖かさに包まれてリビングのソファーでのんびりしているクルミです。

Today is December 11th already, and there are only 20 days left this year. I don’t feel the end of the year anymore these days. It may be because the temperature is higher. It was warm during the day, and I was able to visit the recently opened facility while shopping with my wife. It seems that the city will be planning an event that invites many people in the future. We took a rest at the sweets shop in the facility.
Kurumi has been stable lately he is doing well today. In the afternoon, Kurumi is relaxing on the sofa in the living room, wrapped in the warmth of the sun.
