M さんが使っているプリンターの調子が悪くなったので、引き取って修理をしてみました。カバーが閉じているにも関わらず、カバーが開いているというメッセージが出て印刷することができません。分解してカバーの位置を検出しているスイッチを調べようとしたのですが、プリンターの分解は難しく、スイッチを調べることができませんでした。同じような現象で対処した記事がネット上に掲載されているので、この機種が持っている潜在的な問題なのかも知れません。暫定的な対応をして様子を見てもらうこととしました。
今日は久しぶりにクルミと一緒に遊ぶ時間が持てました。明日はクルミのドッグフードを買いに行きましょう。

The printer that M-san is using became not working well, so I took it over and repaired it. Even though the cover is closed, the message “The cover is open” appears and cannot print. I tried to disassemble it and check the switch that detects the position of the cover, but it was difficult to disassemble the printer and I could not check the switch. There are articles on the net that deal with similar phenomena, so it may be a potential problem with this model. I decided to take a temporary approach and see what happens.
Today I had time to play with Kurumi for the first time in a while. Let’s go buy some dog food for Kurumi tomorrow.

金曜の夜になりました。今週は月曜から毎日、会社で仕事をしたのですが、リモートでの仕事と比べると通勤する時間と労力が大きいことを実感します。最近は自宅で働くことに慣れてしまったので、通勤して働くことが辛く感じます。これは私が歳をとったからかも知れません。クルミの寝顔を見ているとこんな疲れも忘れてしまいます。

It’s Friday night. I’ve been working at the company every day since Monday this week, and I realize that commuting takes a lot of time and effort compared to working remotely. Recently, I’ve gotten used to working from home, so I find it difficult to commute to work. This may be because I am old. Looking at Kurumi’s sleeping face makes me forget all this fatigue.

花粉が多く飛散する時期になってきました。ここ数日で車の上に積もった花粉が夕方からの雨で固まってしまい、車の色が変わって見えるほどに汚れてしまいました。こんな状態で明日運転したくないので、夕食の後、洗車をしました。これからしばらくは辛い時期になります。
今日もクルミと遊ぶ時間は持てませんでした。週末が楽しみです。

I didn’t have time to play with Kurumi again today. I’m looking forward to the weekend.

今週は久しぶりに毎日、会社に車で通勤しています。私は車を運転しながらラジオを聴いています。視聴者からの投稿が紹介されたり、最近流行っている音楽が流れたりと、時間を忘れさせてくれることが気に入っています。今夜、帰宅時に聴いていた情報ですが、この地球が 1 月 1 日に誕生して、今日が大晦日 24 時だったとしたら、人類は大晦日の 23 時 36 分に誕生したようなものだそうです。そのように大きな視野で物事を考えてみると、考え方が変わると教えられました。
今日もクルミとは短い時間の付き合いとなってしまいました。夜 9 時を過ぎると彼は熟睡してしまいます。

I like how it makes me lose track of time, such as introducing posts from viewers and listening to the latest popular music. I was taught that if I think about things from such a broad perspective, my way of thinking will change.
I had a short time with Kurumi again today. After nine o’clock at night he falls asleep.

会社の会議室には窓がありません。従って、外の様子がわかりませんが、お昼を過ぎた頃からとても暖かくなってきて、気温が高かったことがわかりました。今日は 2 月の末日ですが、2 月にこのような気温になることは珍しかったようです。仕事を終えて外に出たら既に暗くなっていました。
クルミは今日も私の帰りを待っていてくれました。夕食後の短い時間でしたが、クルミと一緒の時間を過ごすことができました。

Company meeting room does not have windows. Therefore, although I don’t know what it was like outside, it became very warm after noon, and I knew that the temperature was high. Today is the last day of February, and it seems that it was unusual to have such a temperature in February. It was already dark when I finished work and went outside.
Kurumi was waiting for my return today as well. It was a short time after dinner, but I was able to spend some time with him.

今日から通訳の業務が始まりました。2 週間、外人による会社の監査が行われるため、監査官と日本側の間を取り持つ仕事になります。監査に来た人はアメリカ人で、休憩時間にはアメリカにおけるコロナの状況などを話すことができました。アメリカでは既にマスクの着用は必要なく、日本では依然としてマスクの着用が求められていることに対して苦慮しています。一日中、話す必要があり、私も業務を終えたら疲れ果ててしまいました。今日は早く眠って明日に備えます。
そんな私を待っていてくれたクルミは私が食事をしている間も近くに来て甘えていました。

Sleep early today and prepare for tomorrow.
Kurumi was waiting for me, came to me while I was eating and took care of him.

よく晴れた日曜日、外から子供達が遊ぶ声が聞こえてきます。小さな公園が家の近くにあって、そこで遊ぶ子供達の元気な声が聞こえます。そんな時、とても幸せを感じます。自分の昔を思い出す瞬間でもあります。子供達が安心して外で遊べることができるこの住宅地が好きです。
クルミは昨夜、少し具合が悪い時間がありました。一緒のベッドで寝ているので近くに寄って様子を見てやりました。安心したのか眠りに戻っていきました。いつも同じドッグフードを同じ量与えているのですが、原因はわかりません。

On a sunny Sunday, I hear children playing outside. There is a small park near my house and I can hear the cheerful voices of children playing there. At such times, I feel very happy. It is also a moment that reminds me of my past. I like this residential area where children can play outside safely.
Kurumi had a bit of a bad time last night. I was sleeping in the same bed, so I was close to see what was going on. Feeling relieved, he went back to sleep. We always give him the same amount of the dog food and I don’t know why.

今夜は近くのイタリアンレストランで妻と食事をしてきました。ピザが美味しいレストランです。2 種類をハーフ・アンド・ハーフにしていただけるので 2 人でちょうど良い量のピザをいただくことができます。シェフは一人だけなのでお客様が多いと料理が出てくるまで少し時間がかかってしまいますが、美味しい料理なので我慢できます。
クルミは私たちが外出している間、眠って待っていてくれました。外出しているといつでも気になってしまいます。

I had dinner with my wife tonight at a nearby Italian restaurant. This restaurant has delicious pizza. We can choose 2 types tastes half and half, so we can have just the right amount of pizza for 2 people. There is only one chef, so if there are many customers, it may take a while for the food to come out, but the food is delicious, so I can endure it.
Kurumi slept and waited for us while we were out. Whenever I’m out, I’m always worried him.

妻が12月に怪我をしてから10週間が経過しました。6週間は固定して骨が着くのを待って、リハビリを始めてから4週間、ほぼ日常の生活ができるまで回復しました。まだ、強い力を加えることはできませんし、患部の痛みが残っています。あと2,3週間もすればもっと楽になることでしょう。妻は早くテニスがしたくて仕方ないようです。
梅の花が咲き始めました。今日は天気が悪く夕方からは雨が降り始めました。クルミは今日も暖かいストーブのそばでよく眠っていました。

It’s been 10 weeks since my wife got hurt in December. After six weeks of immobilization and waiting for the bones to attach, four weeks after starting rehabilitation, She was able to return to his normal life. She still can’t apply strong force and still have pain in the affected area however. It will get easier in the next couple of weeks. My wife can’t wait but want to play tennis as soon as possible.
Plum blossoms are starting to bloom. The weather is bad today and it started to rain in the evening. Kurumi slept well by the warm stove today.

今日は天皇誕生日で祝日です。朝は曇り空でしたが、昼からは陽が出てきて暖かくなりました。今日は家の中のことをして過ごしました。風が無いので煙突の掃除をして、煤を取り除きました。煙突掃除をすると手が煤で黒くなってしまいます。手洗いをした後、洗面台の掃除をしました。長年使ってきているので水垢が目立っていました。クレンザーで取り除いた後、ワックスを塗布してみました。これはキッチンのシンク用に準備したものなのですが、陶器にも使えると思います。午後はクルミと一緒に陽の入るリビングでのんびりとしています。胡蝶蘭が咲き始めました。

Today is the Emperor’s birthday and it’s a public holiday. It was cloudy in the morning, but the sun came out in the afternoon and it became warm. I spent the day doing things at home. There was no wind, so I cleaned the chimney and removed the soot. If I clean the chimney, my hands will be black with soot. After washing my hands, I cleaned the sink. I’ve been using it for a long time, so water stains were conspicuous. After removing it with a cleanser, I tried applying the wax. I prepared this for the kitchen sink, but I think it can also be used for pottery. In the afternoon, I relax with Kurumi in the sunny living room. Phalaenopsis orchids are starting to bloom.
