肌寒く、小雨が降る一日でした。しかし、楽しみにしていたさくらんぼ狩りを楽しむことができました。桜の木は大きなビニールハウスの中に入っているので雨に濡れることはありません。妻は大好きなさくらんぼをたくさん食べることができて幸せそうにしていました。ラベンダーはまだ蕾の状態で、うっすらと青くなっています。天気は良くありませんでしたが、楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。
今日、クルミはたくさん歩くことができて疲れてしまったようです。午後はカートの中で熟睡していました。

It was a chilly and drizzly day. However, We were able to enjoy the cherry picking that we were looking forward to. The cherry trees are inside big vinyl houses, so it won’t get wet in the rain. My wife was happy to be able to eat a lot of her favorite cherries. The lavender is still in bud, and it’s getting a little blue. The weather wasn’t great, but we had a great time.
Today, Kurumi was able to walk a lot and seems tired. He slept soundly in the cart in the afternoon.

義理の妹と久しぶりの旅行です。時折、強い雨が降る日でしたが、楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。クルミは移動で疲れたのか部屋のソファーで眠ってしまいました。妻は久しぶりに妹との会話を楽しんでいます。

It’s been a long time since I’ve been on a trip with my sister-in-law. It was a rainy day, but we had a great time. Kurumi fell asleep on the sofa in the room because he was tired from moving. My wife enjoys talking with her sister for the first time in a long time.

今日はテニススクールの友達と 2 時間、コートで試合をしました。今週はスクールがお休みなのです。コートが開放されていて、時間でレンタルすることができました。いつもはクラスで走り回るのですが、今日はのんびりとダブルスの試合を楽しみました。天気は不安定な一日でした。夕方には日本全国で雷注意報が出ていました。
クルミは涼しい服を着せてもらってご機嫌です。今日もよく眠っています。最近は眠っている時間が長くなりました。

Today, Wife and I had a two-hour match on the court with our friends from the tennis school. School is closed this week. Courts were open and could be rented by the hour. We usually run around in class, but today we enjoyed the doubles match leisurely. It was a day of unsettled weather. In the evening, a thunder warning was issued all over Japan.
Kurumi is happy to be dressed in cool clothes. He is sleeping well today. Lately, He’s been sleeping longer.

今日は一日中小雨が降る少し涼しい一日でした。気温は低いのですが湿度が高く、すっきりしない天気でした。
クルミは私の膝の上でのんびりしています。身体を撫でてやると気持ち良いのか寝息を立てて眠ってしまいました。

Today was a cool day with drizzle all day long. The temperature was low, but the humidity was high, and the weather was not refreshing.
Kurumi is lounging on my lap. He took a deep breath and fell asleep because it felt good when I stroked his body.

昨日、初めてオレンジワインを飲みました。オレンジと言っても原料にオレンジを使っているわけでは無く、ロゼワインの反対だそうです。「赤ワインを白ワインのように作る」ことと、「白ワインを赤ワインのように作る」ことが、ロゼワインとオレンジワインの作り方の違いだそうです。美味しい料理と美味しいワインをいただきました。
今日は朝から雨です。庭師に庭の手入れを予約していたのですが、延期となりました。クルミも庭に出られずに残念そうです。

I drank orange wine for the first time yesterday. Even if it says orange, it doesn’t use oranges as raw materials, it seems to be the opposite of rosé wine. “Making red wine like white wine” and “making white wine like red wine” are the differences between rosé wine and orange wine. We had delicious food and delicious wine.
It’s been raining since morning today. I had made an appointment with the gardener to take care of the garden, but it has been postponed. Kurumi also seems to be disappointed that he can’t go out to the garden.

今日、私は 69 歳の誕生日を迎えています。人から「若いですね」と言われて気を悪くすることはありませんが、年齢が姿に出ていないということは、まだまだ経験が少ないのかも知れません。ウェブで検索してみたら、下記のような記事がありました。全てに当てはまるように生活してみたいと思います。

Today I am celebrating my 69th birthday. I don’t get offended when people say, “You’re young,” but the fact that my age doesn’t show up in my face may mean that I still have little experience. 明日、69 歳の誕生日を迎える日、献血に行ってきました。先月に続けての要請なので、きっと同じ患者さんが待っているのだと思います。献血ができるのは 70 歳になる前日までなので、この先、1 年間でその期限がきます。20 歳になった時から始めた献血をいままで継続できたことに感謝します。今日は新人の研修が献血ルームのスタッフによって行われていました。針を抜く時だけ、その方が担当されていましたが、早く上達して刺すところから自信を持って処置できるようになってほしいと願います。
朝はクルミの爪を切ってやりました。歴代の犬たちのなかでクルミは一番おとなしく爪を切らせてくれます。

Tomorrow, on my 69th birthday, I went to donate blood today. It’s a request from last month, so I’m sure the same patient is waiting. I can donate blood until the day before the day turns 70, so the deadline will come in a year from now. I am grateful that I have been able to continue donating blood since I turned 20. Today, training for new recruits was being conducted by staff in the blood donation room. This person was in charge only when the needle was pulled out, but I hope that she will improve quickly and be able to perform the treatment with confidence from the point of pricking.
In the morning I cut the nails for Kurumi. He is the most gentle way to clip nails of all dogs in past.

長いこと会っていなかった人と会食をしてきました。お互いに会社を離れています。今は別の会社で働いている人と、世間話ができることに感謝します。社会と離れてしまうことは人との接点も無くなる様な気がして、少し恐ろしくさえあります。私はいつまでこのように社会と繋がっていることができるのか、考える時間でもありました。
クルミは今日も元気にしていました。

I had dinner with old friends I hadn’t seen in a long time. We are separated from each other. I appreciate being able to make small talk with them who now works for another company. I feel that being separated from society means losing contact with other people, and it’s even a little scary. It was also a time to think about how long I will be able to connect with society like this.
Kurumi was doing well today as well.

妻は自動車運転免許証の更新に出かけました。その間、クルミと家で待っていましたが、急に気温が高くなったので、エアコンのスイッチを入れてしまいました。昨日は少し涼しい気候でしたが、今日は夏のような暑さです。70 歳以上になると免許証の更新時に講習を受ける必要があります。妻はまだその必要はありません。5 年間有効の免許証を見て、「これで最後かね？」と話していました。

My wife went out to renew her driver’s license. In the meantime, I waited at home with Kurumi, but the temperature suddenly rose, so I turned on the air conditioner. Yesterday was a little cooler, but today it’s hot like summer. If we are over 70 years old, we will need to take a course when we renew the license. My wife doesn’t need it yet. When she saw the driver’s license valid for next five years, she said, “Is this the last time?”

高齢者が運転する自動車による事故が今週も発生してしまいました。82歳のドライバーは駐車場から出た途端に加速し、反対側の歩道にいた60歳代の人を轢き、そのまま建物に当たって停止しました。残念ながら歩行者の命は絶たれてしまいました。自動車に安全装置があったのかは不明ですが、テレビでも宣伝されているメーカーの車でした。急加速を防止する、人の動きを検知して停止する、いまでは実現化している技術なのですが、高齢者はそれを利用したいものです。
台風 3 号が今日発生しました。もう直ぐ梅雨になります。クルミの体調は安定しているのですが、天候の急変が心配です。

An accident involving a car driven by an elderly person has occurred this week again. The 82-year-old driver accelerated as soon as he came out of the parking lot, ran over a man in his 60s on the opposite sidewalk, and hit a building and stopped. Unfortunately, the pedestrian lost his life. It is unknown whether the car had a safety device, but it was a car of a manufacturer that was advertised on TV. Preventing sudden acceleration, detecting human movement and stopping, these are technologies that have already been realized, but the elderly want to use them.
Typhoon No. 3 occurred today. It will be rainy season soon. Kurumi’s physical condition is stable, but I’m worried about sudden changes in the weather.
