今年最後の芝刈りをしました。気温が下がって、風も吹いていたので汗をかかずに快適に作業をすることができました。この芝生の緑は目に優しい色です。小さな庭ですが、私の自慢の芝生です。見上げると空は真っ青、快晴の午後でした。クルミくんは今朝も私たちが起こすまで布団の中で眠っていました。

I mowed the lawn for the last time this year. The temperature was cooler and the wind was blowing so I was able to work comfortably without sweating. The green color of this lawn is easy on my eyes. It is a small yard, but it is my pride and joy. When I looked up, the sky was a bright blue, and it was a sunny afternoon. Kurumi was sleeping under the covers this morning until we woke him up.

妻とテニススクールでたくさん動いた土曜の午後はどうしても眠くなります。少しだけ、と思いながら、結局 1 時間昼寝をしてしまいました。そして気づいたら気温が下がっています。天気予報でも気温の変化に気を付けるように言っていました。寒暖差アレルギーという症状もあるようです。クルミくんも涼しいからか良く眠っています。

After a lot of activity at tennis school with my wife, I inevitably get sleepy on Saturday afternoons. I thought I would take a short nap, but ended up napping for an hour. Then I noticed that the temperature was dropping. Even the weather forecast said to watch out for temperature changes. It seems that there is a symptom called “temperature variation allergy”. Kurumi is also sleeping well because of the cooler temperature today.

今日も日差しが強い日でした。暑いのと、目に良く無いと思い、リビングに差し込む太陽の影になる場所にクルミくんを連れて行きました。日中はクーラーを点けたくなるくらい部屋の温度が上がりました。コキアが赤くなっています。青空とのコントラストが綺麗でした。陽が沈むのが早くなりました。夕方 5 時には暗くなり始めて、私は急いで帰宅しました。

It was another day with strong sunlight. I took Kurumi to a place where the sun shaded the living room, because I thought it was hot and not good for his eyes. The temperature in the room rose so high during the day that I wanted to turn on the air conditioner. Kochia is turning red. The contrast with the blue sky was beautiful. The sun was setting early. It started to get dark at 5 p.m. and I hurried home.

今日も日中は暑いくらいの気温になりました。少し日が傾いた頃、クルミくんを連れて公園を散策しました。クルミくんはたくさん歩いたのですが、疲れすぎてはいけないので、半分の道のりはカートで移動しました。それでも帰る頃にはクルミくんは疲れてカートの中で眠ってしまいました。この暖かさは来週も続きそうです。

It was hot again today during the day. When the sun went down a little, we took Kurumi for a walk in the park. Kurumi walked a lot, but we didn’t want him to get too tired, so we used a cart for half of the way. Even so, by the time we got home, Kurumi was so tired that he fell asleep in the cart. This warm weather is likely to continue into next week.

クルミくんは毛をカットしてもらう日でした。迎えに行った時にトリマーさんと今日の様子を聞きます。今日もクルミくんは顔の毛をカットしてもらうのが苦手のようです。ハサミが顔に近づくとパニックになってしまいます。それでもトリマーさんはなんとかクルミくんのトリミングを終えてくれました。ショッピングセンターは今月末のハロウィーンに向けたデコレーションが綺麗でした。

It was Kurumi’s day to have his hair cut. When we went to pick him up, we asked the trimmer how he was doing today. Today, too, Kurumi seems to have trouble getting his facial hair cut. He panics when the scissors get too close to his face. Even so, the trimmer managed to finish trimming Kurumi’s hair. The shopping center was beautifully decorated for Halloween at the end of this month.

今朝の散歩で、大きな金木犀の木からとても良い香りを楽しむことができました。金木犀は朝、その香りを強く放ちます。この香りを嗅ぐ度に米国に住む友人を思い出します。Eleanor もこの香りが好きです。長いこと会っていませんが、元気にしていることと思います。クルミくんは今日も元気に過ごしています。ここ数日は朝の気温が低いので暖かいベッドから出られずに寝坊しています。

On my walk this morning, I was able to enjoy a very nice fragrance from a large gold osmanthus tree. The fragrance of the tree is very strong in the morning. Every time I smell it, I am reminded of my friend in the U.S. Eleanor also likes this scent. I haven’t seen her for a long time, but I hope she is doing well. Kurumi is doing well today. He is sleeping in because he is unable to get out of his warm bed due to the cool morning temperatures.

昨日の寒さに驚かされて、ガスストーブを用意しました。そうしたら、今日からまた気温が高くなって、今日はとても暖かい一日となりました。この天気は週末まで続きそうです。クルミくんも太陽の暖かさが嬉しいのか午前中は窓からの陽の光を楽しんでいました。しかし、北国では今夜から積雪の予報が出ていて、冬は確実に近づいてきています。

Yesterday’s cold weather surprised me and I prepared a gas heater. Then today the temperature started warming up again, and today is a very warm day. It looks like this weather will continue until the weekend. Kurumi was also happy with the warmth of the sun and was enjoying the sunshine from the window in the morning. However, snow is forecasted to begin tonight in the northern part of Japan, and winter is definitely approaching.

新聞を読んでいて、生成 AI の記事が目に止まりました。将来、人間が行なっている仕事を生成 AI が行うだろうという内容です。そして、職業によってその割合を予想しているのですが、その予想にも生成 AI が使われていることに可笑しさを覚えました。実は私もこのブログの英訳に使っています。Google 翻訳、Chat GPT、そして今は DeepL で英訳し、読み返しながら投稿しています。自分が最初から訳すよりも早く、そして新しい言葉を使えるので便利です。最後は人間が完成させる、そんな使い方で良いのかも知れません。今日は妻が外出していたので、クルミくんと一緒に家で過ごしていました。

While reading the newspaper, an interesting article on generative AI, I read. The article said that in the future, AI will be used to do the jobs that humans are doing. I found it funny that the article also used generative AI to predict the percentage of jobs that will be done by AI in the future. I actually use it (AI) to translate this blog into English using Google Translate, Chat GPT, and now DeepL, and read it back for editi then I post. It’s faster than translating from scratch myself, and it’s convenient because I can use new words. It may be good to use it in such a way that a human being completes it in the end. My wife was out of town today, so I was at home with Kurumi.

週末は英語の授業の予習をすることにしています。しかし、午前中に行われたテニススクールの疲れが出てきて眠くなってしまいました。そこで眠気覚ましの目的で外に出て新鮮な空気をクルミくんと一緒に楽しむこととしました。天気は下り坂です。明日は冷たい雨の一日と予報が出ています。英語の勉強は明日にすることにして、今日はのんびりと過ごします。

On weekends, I should prepare for my English classe on Tuesday. However, I was getting tired and sleepy from the tennis school held in this morning. So I decided to go outside and enjoy the fresh air with Kurumi for the purpose of waking up from sleepiness. The weather is going worse. Tomorrow is forecast to be a cold and rainy day. So I will study English tomorrow and spend today just relax that I decided as a lazy person.

今日も私は HLA 献血の要請に応えて、献血ルームに行きました。約 500ml の血液を採取して血小板なの成分を分離してから体内に戻します。それを今日は 4 サイクル繰り返していました。献血ルームで H氏に声をかけられました。彼とは社会人になりたての頃一緒に仕事をしましたが、最近は会っていませんでした。でもお互いにすぐわかり、元気そうな姿をお互いに交換することができました。そもそも、健康でないと献血はできません。クルミくんは私が帰宅すると直ぐに一緒に遊ぶように吠えて甘えてきました。今日も元気なクルミくんです。

Today I went to the blood donation room again in response to a request for HLA blood donation. About 500 ml of blood is collected and the components, such as platelets, are separated before being returned to my body. Today, four cycles of this process were repeated. At the blood donation room, I was approached by Mr. H. I had worked with him when I first started working, but we had not seen each other recently. But we recognized each other easily, and we were able to exchange mutual glimpses of how well we were doing. To begin with, you have to be in good health to donate blood. Kurumi barked and spoiled me to play with him as soon as I came home. Kurumi is very energetic today.
