Perplexityという新しい検索エンジンというか回答モデルを息子から聴いて、早速アプリをインストールしてみた。すぐに Google や Yahoo を使ってしまうが、今ではもっとスマートなツールが多くある。新しいものにこれからも挑戦してみようと思う。クルミくんは良く眠っていた。今日は少し涼しく過ごしやすい一日だった。雨も降り出した。梅雨になるかもしれない。

I heard a new search engine or answer model called Perplexity from my son and installed the app right away. I use Google and Yahoo soon, but now there are many smarter tools. I’m going to continue to try new things. Kurumi was sleeping well. Today was a little cooler and easy to spend. It also started to rain. It may be the rainy season.

旧友の I さんからのメールで彼がバセドウ病に罹患したと知りました。気分が優れないので食事会の誘いを断ってきた。以前の会社で長くにわたって一緒に設計の仕事をしてきた I さんはいつも元気だった。退職した後は晴耕雨読の生活をしていた。晴れた日は畑仕事をしていつも陽に焼けた顔をしていたが、今はどうしているのだろうか。しばらく会って居なかったので心配している。寛解までには長い年月がかかる病気らしい。いつもの元気で頑張ってもらいたいものだ。クルミくんは 5 分もすると一人ではいられずに吠えて私たちを呼ぶ。寂しがりやに育ててしまった。今日も私が仕事をしている間、足元の近くでのんびりしていた。

I found out he had Graves’ disease through an email from an old friend, Mr I. I was told that he had been diagnosed with Graves’ disease. He declined an invitation to a dinner party because he was not feeling well. Mr I, who had worked with me in design for many years at our former company, was always in good health. After he retired, he lived as easy. On sunny days, he worked in the fields and always looked sunburnt. I am worried because I haven’t seen him for a while. I heard that the disease takes many years to go into remission. I hope he is doing well and doing his best. Kurumi can’t stay alone for more than five minutes, so he barks and calls for us. I have raised him to be lonely. Today, too, while I was working, he was relaxing near my feet.

床屋に行って髪を切ってもらってきました。この店に通い始めたのは 20 年以上前のことです。一度気にいると、床屋を変えることができません。今日もいつもの理容師にお願いしました。これまでは誕生月に 30% の割引を受けられたのですが、今月から 20% にしたそうです。実質的な値上げですが理解するようにしました。クルミくんは今日も元気です。私たちが家事で忙しい時に限って寝ぐずるので困ります。何かいい手があると良いのですが。

I went to the barbershop and had my hair cut. I started going to this store more than 20 years ago. Once you like it, you can’t change the barber. I asked my usual barber again today. Until now, I was able to get a 30% discount in the birth month, but it seems that I got a 20% discount from this month. It’s a substantial price increase, but I tried to understand. Kurumi is fine today as well. It’s troublesome because he falls asleep only when we’re busy with housework. I hope there is a good way.

前期の授業も後 3 回となりました。今日は大雨の降るなか、大学までの道を歩いて通いました。驚いたことにこの雨のなか、学生たちはサッカーの試合練習をしていました。昨日の暑さから一転して少し涼しく感じられた一日でした。授業と仕事で一日が過ぎてしまいました。クルミくんは今日も元気に遊んで、そしてよく眠っていました。

There are now only three more classes left in the first semester. Today, I walked to the university in heavy rain. To my surprise, the students were practising for a football match in the rain. The day felt a little cooler than yesterday’s heat. The day passed with classes and work. Kurumi played well and slept well today.

今年の梅雨入りはまだです。例年よりも遅くなることが予想されています。また異常気象に見舞われるのか心配です。今日は妻が外出をしていたので私はクルミくんと一緒に過ごしました。蒸し暑い日でしたからエアコンを使って過ごしやすくしてやりました。

This year’s rainy season has not started yet. It is expected to be later than usual. I’m worried about being hit by abnormal weather again. My wife was out today, so I spent time with Kurumi. It was a hot and humid day, so I used the air conditioner to make it easier to spend.

昨夜は私たちの誕生日を祝って、妻と外食を楽しんできました。このイタリアンレストランでは美味しい料理とワインをいただくことができます。私は少し飲み過ぎてしまいました。店の Y さんにはいつも楽しく接客していただいています。今月は私たちの誕生月です。少し贅沢させてもらいます。今日の買い物にはクルミくんと一緒に行きました。とても暑い日でした。

Last night, We celebrated our birthday and enjoyed eating out with my wife. We can enjoy delicious food and wine at this Italian restaurant. I drank a little too much. Mr. Y of the store always enjoys serving customers. This month is our birth month. Let us have a little extravagant. We went shopping with Kurumi today. It was a very hot day.

巣立った鳥たちが巣の周りに来ていました。小鳥たちが産まれた場所を親鳥が教えていたのかも知れません。来年戻って来る準備をしようと思い巣を取り外してみました。中にはたくさんの苔でふわふわのベッドができていました。何羽がここで産まれたのか、その痕跡は見つかりませんでした。巣は綺麗にして消毒する必要があるようですが、その手順はネットで調べてみます。週末はクルミくんと一緒にいる時間が長く持てますが、食事が終わるとすぐにベッドで眠ってしまいます。

The birds that left the nest were coming around the nest. The parent bird may have taught the place where they were born. I tried to remove the nest to prepare for coming back next year. There was a fluffy bed with a lot of moss inside. I couldn’t find any trace of how many birds were born here. It seems that the nest needs to be cleaned and disinfected, but I will look up the procedure on the Internet. I can spend a long time with Kurumi on weekends, but he falls asleep in bed as soon as he finish eating.

今夜は以前、一緒に働いていた仲間たちと夕食を一緒にする時間を持てました。既に 10 年以上前にお別れしたのですが、声をかけてくださることに感謝しています。昔話を楽しんでいたら時間は早く過ぎてしまいました。クルミくんは認知症を患っているかも知れません。食事の時間がわからなくなり始めています。

Tonight, I had time to have dinner with my friends I used to work with. I already said goodbye more than 10 years ago, but I’m grateful to them for calling out to me. When I was enjoying old stories, the time passed quickly. Kurumi may be suffering from dementia. He’s starting to lose my meal time.

今日は郊外の事務所まで鉄道を使って行きました。前回までは車を使っていましたが、高速道路の渋滞があると会議に間に合わないので今日は安全を見て電車にしました。久しぶりにディーゼル列車に乗りました。この区間は未だ電化されていませんでした。クルミくんは今朝も私が起きるまで眠っていました。

I went to the office in the suburbs by train today. I was using a car until last time, but if there is a traffic jam on the highway, I can’t make it in time for the meeting, so today I took the train to be in safe. I got on the diesel train for the first time in a long time. This section has not yet been electrified. Kurumi-kun was sleeping until I woke up this morning.

毎週火曜日、英語通訳の授業に通っています。最初に行われるのは単語(語彙)テストです。毎日放送されるラジオ番組を聴いて勉強する必要があります。20分程度のニュース番組なのですが話題が広範囲なので聴いたことがない単語も多く覚えるのに一苦労します。私は番組の放送内容を書き取って翻訳をしながら覚えるのですが、どうしても満点が取れません。今期はまだ3回授業があります。一度は満点を取れるように頑張ってみます。今日はクルミくんと遊ぶ時間を持てませんでした。

I go to an English interpretation class every Tuesday. The first thing to do is a word (vocabulary) test. I need to listen to and study the radio program that is broadcast every day. It’s a news program of about 20 minutes, but it has a wide range of topics, so it’s hard to remember many words I’ve never heard. I write down the broadcast content of the program and memorize it while translating it, but I just can’t get a perfect score. There are still three classes this term. I’ll try my best to get a perfect score at least once. I didn’t have time to play with Kurumi-kun today.
