The sofa in my house that Kurumi likes to sit on has the legs removed so that he can climb up and down easily. Even so, he is able to run up to the seat, which is as high as he is tall, but he is good at it. I am worried about the strain on his legs and back when he jumps down. We have tried stairs and ramps, but Kurumi never used them.
In my translation class at the university, it uses an NHK radio program called “News de Manabu Gendai Eigo” as a teaching tool. It is broadcasting every morning for 15 minutes and can be listened to later via the network. Students learn new words and phrases from the program. The class is given a vocabulary test with 20 questions from a week’s worth of broadcasts. My highest score so far is 18, and I just can’t get a perfect score. I am trying my best to get a perfect score next time. In the evening, I was vaccinated against coronavirus. This was the seventh time I have received the vaccine. I have to endure the pain at the shot point for a few more days. Kurumi spent a lot of time alone today, so he is not in a good mood.
I worked all day today in my room, so I did not have enough time to play with Kurumi. I did get to spend a little time with Kurumi during lunch. He is always on the sofa. Today, too, he went back to the sofa immediately after playing with me. The time of a day seems very short.
I mowed the lawn for the last time this year. The temperature was cooler and the wind was blowing so I was able to work comfortably without sweating. The green color of this lawn is easy on my eyes. It is a small yard, but it is my pride and joy. When I looked up, the sky was a bright blue, and it was a sunny afternoon. Kurumi was sleeping under the covers this morning until we woke him up.
After a lot of activity at tennis school with my wife, I inevitably get sleepy on Saturday afternoons. I thought I would take a short nap, but ended up napping for an hour. Then I noticed that the temperature was dropping. Even the weather forecast said to watch out for temperature changes. It seems that there is a symptom called “temperature variation allergy”. Kurumi is also sleeping well because of the cooler temperature today.
It was another day with strong sunlight. I took Kurumi to a place where the sun shaded the living room, because I thought it was hot and not good for his eyes. The temperature in the room rose so high during the day that I wanted to turn on the air conditioner. Kochia is turning red. The contrast with the blue sky was beautiful. The sun was setting early. It started to get dark at 5 p.m. and I hurried home.
It was hot again today during the day. When the sun went down a little, we took Kurumi for a walk in the park. Kurumi walked a lot, but we didn’t want him to get too tired, so we used a cart for half of the way. Even so, by the time we got home, Kurumi was so tired that he fell asleep in the cart. This warm weather is likely to continue into next week.
It was Kurumi’s day to have his hair cut. When we went to pick him up, we asked the trimmer how he was doing today. Today, too, Kurumi seems to have trouble getting his facial hair cut. He panics when the scissors get too close to his face. Even so, the trimmer managed to finish trimming Kurumi’s hair. The shopping center was beautifully decorated for Halloween at the end of this month.
On my walk this morning, I was able to enjoy a very nice fragrance from a large gold osmanthus tree. The fragrance of the tree is very strong in the morning. Every time I smell it, I am reminded of my friend in the U.S. Eleanor also likes this scent. I haven’t seen her for a long time, but I hope she is doing well. Kurumi is doing well today. He is sleeping in because he is unable to get out of his warm bed due to the cool morning temperatures.
Yesterday’s cold weather surprised me and I prepared a gas heater. Then today the temperature started warming up again, and today is a very warm day. It looks like this weather will continue until the weekend. Kurumi was also happy with the warmth of the sun and was enjoying the sunshine from the window in the morning. However, snow is forecasted to begin tonight in the northern part of Japan, and winter is definitely approaching.
