今日も私は HLA 献血の要請に応えて、献血ルームに行きました。約 500ml の血液を採取して血小板なの成分を分離してから体内に戻します。それを今日は 4 サイクル繰り返していました。献血ルームで H氏に声をかけられました。彼とは社会人になりたての頃一緒に仕事をしましたが、最近は会っていませんでした。でもお互いにすぐわかり、元気そうな姿をお互いに交換することができました。そもそも、健康でないと献血はできません。クルミくんは私が帰宅すると直ぐに一緒に遊ぶように吠えて甘えてきました。今日も元気なクルミくんです。

Today I went to the blood donation room again in response to a request for HLA blood donation. About 500 ml of blood is collected and the components, such as platelets, are separated before being returned to my body. Today, four cycles of this process were repeated. At the blood donation room, I was approached by Mr. H. I had worked with him when I first started working, but we had not seen each other recently. But we recognized each other easily, and we were able to exchange mutual glimpses of how well we were doing. To begin with, you have to be in good health to donate blood. Kurumi barked and spoiled me to play with him as soon as I came home. Kurumi is very energetic today.

家の近くのカフェでは先週までかき氷がメニューにありましたが、今週からは焼き芋です。すっかり季節は秋になりました。私たちが外出する時、安全のため、クルミくんにはケージに入ってもらっています。車庫に車を停めてドアを開け閉めする音がするとクルミくんは、早く出たいと吠えます。きっとこのような音は聞こえているのでしょう。今日もクルミくんが中心の時間を過ごしました。

At a cafe near my house, shaved ice was on the menu until last week, but from this week it is baked potatoes. The season has completely changed to autumn. When we go out, Kurumi stays in his cage for his safety. When we back and park the car in the garage then we door open and close, Kurumi barks, wanting to get out as soon as possible. I am sure he hears these sounds. We took care Kurumi all day long today as well.

昨年 5 月から乗っている愛車に傷をつけてしまい、気分が落ち込んでいる自分がいます。駐車場から出る時にバンパーの右下を道路の縁石に擦ってしまいました。言い訳はともかく、反省です。傷を見る度にがっかりしています。クルミくんは今日も元気に遊んで、そして食欲旺盛に過ごしていました。

I find myself feeling depressed because I scratched my car, which I have been driving since last May. I hit the lower right side of the bumper on the curb of the road when I was leaving the parking lot. I’m sorry for the damage, regardless of my excuses. I am disappointed every time I see the scratch. Kurumi was playing happily and had a good appetite today.

今日は大学での講義、第3回目でした。毎回、20 問の単語試験が行われます。今日は 18 点の成績でした。試験の時間が過ぎると思い出すのですが、どうしても 2 問の単語が頭から出てきませんでした。週に一度だけ、1 時間 45 分の授業ですが、頭の回転が落ちてきた私にとって、とても刺激のある時間となっています。そして、現代らしく AI の活用も積極的にしていくので新しいことを学ぶ機会にもなっています。クルミくんは午前中、陽の入るソファーでのんびりとした時間を送っていました。昨日から飲んでいる薬が良く効いているようです。

Today was my third lecture at the university. Each time, we perform a 20-question vocabulary test. Today I got a score of 18. After the exam time passed, I remembered the words, but I could not get two words out of my head. The class is only once a week, for 1 hour and 45 minutes, but it is a very stimulating time for me as my mind has been slowing down. It is also an opportunity for me to learn new things as we are going to actively use AI in a modern way. Kurumi spent the morning relaxing on the sofa in the sun. The medicine he has been taking since yesterday seems to be working well.

本当に日本からは秋という季節が来なくなってしまったのかも知れません。今日は昨日よりも気温が下がり、11 月並みの気温となりました。冬物の服を出して着ています。しかし、まだストーブを出すには早いと思っていました。朝晩はストーブを点けても良さそうな気温になっています。今月末にシンガポールから来る息子夫婦にも寒いことを覚悟するように言っておきました。クルミは急な温度変化のためか、少し調子が良くありません。獣医と相談して抗生物質の薬を処方してもらいました。ここ数年、このような体調をくり返しています。

It may be that the season of autumn has really stopped coming to Japan. Today, the temperature is lower than yesterday and is like almost in November. I took out my winter clothes and put them on. However, I thought it was still too early to put out the stove. In the mornings and evenings, the temperature seems to be getting warm enough to turn on the stove. I told my son and his wife, who are coming from Singapore at the end of this month, to be prepared for cold weather. Kurumi is a little under the weather, probably due to the sudden temperature change. We consulted with the vet and got him on antibiotic medication. Kurumi has been repeatedly sick like this for the past few years.

これまで使っていたイヤフォンをオープンイヤー型に変えました。イヤフォンを長時間使っていると耳の中が蒸れるのか、とても違和感を感じます。オープンイヤー型は耳のすぐ近くに音源があるので耳は蒸れることはありません。そして、周囲の音も聞くことができるので便利です。最近通うようになった大学講座の勉強をする時にも役立っています。クルミくんは今日も元気です。餌に混ぜた薬をちゃんと摂っています。

I have changed my earphones to open-ear type. When I use earphones for a long time, I feel very uncomfortable, as if the inside of my ears are steaming. With the open-ear type, the sound source is very close to the ear, so the ear does not steam up. And it is convenient because I can hear the surrounding sound. It is also useful when I study for a college course I recently started attending. Kurumi is doing well today. He is well taking the medicine mixed in his food.

日本は 3 連休になるこの週末、今日はとても清々しく気持ちの良い日でした。きっと多くの人が出かけることでしょう。こんな日、私たちはクルミくんと一緒に家でのんびりと過ごすことにしています。季節の変わり目なので衣装の模様替えをして、家の中の掃除をすることにします。テニススクールのコーチも言っていましたが、時間が過ぎる速度には驚きです。

It was a very refreshing and pleasant day today during this three-day weekend in Japan. I am sure many people will be out and about. On days like this, Kurumi and I will be relaxing at home. Since it is the change of season, we will redecorate our clothes and clean the house. As our tennis school coach said, it is amazing how fast time passes.

今日は会社で終日打ち合わせをしていました。相手の顔を見て話しているとリモートでは伝わらないことも良く理解できます。ホワイトボードに書き出してみると考えをまとめることができます。以前はこのような打ち合わせが多かったのですが、最近はとても少なくなりました。そして、人の名前と顔が一致しなくなってしまいました。あと何年、このような仕事を続けられるか、そんなことを考えてしまいました。帰宅するとクルミくんはバスケットの中で眠っていましたが、私の気配を感じると起きてくれました。

I had a meeting all day today at the office. I can better understand things that cannot be communicated remotely when I am talking to the other person face to face. I can summarize my thoughts by writing them down on the whiteboard. There used to be many meetings like this, but recently it has become very rare. And I can no longer match people’s names and faces. I wondered how many more years I could continue to do this kind of work. When I came home, Kurumi was sleeping in his basket, but he woke up when he felt my presence.

少し涼しい天気だったので、クルミくんと一緒にコスモスを見に公園に行ってきました。今年は黄花コスモスが丘一面に広がっていて、圧巻の景色でした。クルミくんはカートに乗っていると歩きたがるので疲れない程度に歩かせました。それでも帰りには疲れたようで、カートの中で熟睡していました。今日は日差しが時々出る程度で、とても清々しい天気でした。私はお気に入りのカメラで写真を撮ることができて、満足です。

It was a slightly cool weather, so we went to the park with Kurumi to see the cosmos flowers. This year, yellow cosmos flowers spread all over the hill, creating a breathtaking view. Kurumi likes to walk when he’s in his stroller, so we let him walk enough to not get tired. However, he seemed tired on the way back and was fast asleep in the stroller. Today, the sun occasionally peeked through, making it a very refreshing day. I was able to take photos with my favorite camera, so I’m satisfied as well.

クルミくんの健診で獣医を訪ねました。急に気温が下がったことにより体調を崩す犬が多いのか、待合室は混雑していました。クルミくんも昨日から体調を崩していて、薬を処方してもらいました。獣医と犬の白内障手術について話すことができました。最近は犬用の眼内レンズも開発されていて、治療が行われているようです。クルミくんも白内障が進行していますが、年老いたクルミくんには手術は良くありません。これからも大事にしてやります。

I visited the veterinarian for Kurumi’s checkup. The waiting room was crowded, as if many dogs were getting sick due to the sudden drop in temperature. Kurumi had also been sick since yesterday, and we asked him to prescribe some medicine. We were able to talk with the vet about canine cataract surgery. It seems that intraocular lenses for dogs have recently been developed and are being used for treatment. Kurumi also has advanced cataracts, but surgery is not good for old Kurumi. We will continue to take good care of him.
