今日も一日、冷たい雨が降る寒い日でした。会社から帰宅して直ぐに薪ストーブで部屋を温めました。クルミくんは今日も元気に遊んでいたようです。私が帰宅しても昼寝から起きてはきませんでした。私は、今週も毎日、業務があって忙しい時間を過ごしています。
It was another cold and rainy day. I warmed up the room with a wood stove as soon as I came home from work. Kurumi seemed to be playing energetically today. He did not wake up from his nap when I came home. I have been busy with business every day this week.
今日は以前に一緒に働いていた人とのビジネス会食をしてきました。気がつけば 9 年もの時間が経過していましたが、以前と同様の話ができました。世の中の動きは激しく、以前とは異なる解決策があることを知ることができて有意義な時間でした。今日は、クルミくんとの時間は短く、彼がトリミングから帰ってきた一時を過ごすことだけでした。
Today I had a business dinner with someone I used to work with. I realized that 9 years had passed, but we were able to talk as we used to. The world moves fast and it was meaningful to know that there are different solutions than before. Today, my time with Kurumi was short, only to spend a moment when he came home from his trimming.
庭の睡蓮鉢の中に広がった藻を取り去って、綺麗にしてみました。金魚も大きくなって、元気に泳いでいます。水を全部抜いて、鉢の中を洗いました。底には睡蓮の芽が出てきています。今年も花を楽しませてくれるか心配です。睡蓮は育てるのが難しいです。私のように放っておいてはダメなのでしょう。クルミくんを庭に出してやりました。右足おの具合は相変わらずですが、裏返ることは少なくなりました。庭で遊んだ後はベッドに入って昼寝をしていました。
I removed the algae spread in the water lily pot in the garden and cleaned them up. The goldfish have grown and are swimming well. I drained all the water and washed the inside of the pot. Water lilies are sprouting at the bottom. I am worried if they will show their flowers again this year. Water lilies are difficult to grow. I guess I should not leave them alone like I do. I took Kurumi out to the garden. His right foot is as bad as ever, but his foot does not turn over anymore. After playing in the garden, he went to bed and took a nap.
今日は午後から雨になる予報だったので、早くから薪ストーブに火を入れました。ところが、雨は降らず、時々陽がさす天気となっています。乾燥する日が続いていたので少し雨で湿度が上がることを期待しています。最近は通信販売で物を買うことが多くなりました。店頭に行っても手に入らない物も通信販売なら手にいれることができます。雑誌を読んでいて、紀州南高梅を使った梅酒が美味しそうだったので注文してしまいました。年間 800 本しか作らないブランド品、届いた瓶を開けるのが楽しみです。クルミくんは暖かくなったリビングで元気に遊んでいます。

I am looking forward to opening the bottle. Kurumi is playing happily in the warm living room.
今日は息子の誕生日、彼も 47 歳となる。私も歳を取るはずで、あと数ヶ月で 70 になる。歳のことは考えないようにしているが、こればかりは仕方ない。歳相応の生き方を心がけたいと考えてしまう。朝、鏡に映る自分の顔を見てそんなことを思っていた。帰宅して庭の水仙が咲き始めていることに気づいた。週末は雨となりそう。水仙の花は週明けには楽しめるかも知れない。クルミくんは今日も元気に遊んでいた。
Today is my son’s birthday, he is now 47th. I am getting older, too, and will be 70th in a few months. I try not to think about my age, but it’s just the way it is. 今朝は衝撃的なニュースでテレビの報道番組は持ちきりでした。大谷翔平選手の専属通訳だった水原一平が犯罪で逮捕されたそうです。真意は不明ですが、賭博で膨らんだ負債にまつわる犯罪となったようです。英語を少し話す身として、通訳者がどのように話しているのか興味があります。とても残念な出来事でした。今日はクルミくんと久しぶりに庭で過ごすことができました。太陽が雲に隠れると北風の寒さで震えてしまいました。明日も天気は良さそうです。

Today I was able to spend time with Kurumi in the garden for the first time in a while. When the sun disappeared behind the clouds, I shivered from the cold north wind. The weather looks good tomorrow too.
今日は春分の日の祝日で、業務はお休みです。私はテニススクールのイベントに参加して汗を流してきました。スクールに通っているのですがバックハンドは今も苦手です。今日のイベントでもバックハンドについてコーチに教えてもらいました。上達することよりも健康維持を目的としているので上手くならなくても仕方ないかも知れません。今日もメンバーと楽しく過ごすことができました。私は朝、クルミくんの爪を切ってあげました。徐々に爪の伸びる速度は遅くなっているようです。
Today is the Vernal Equinox holiday and business is closed. I have been sweating it out at a tennis school event this afternoon. I have been attending the school and my backhand is still my weak point. At today’s event, the coach taught me about the backhand. I am trying to stay fit rather than improve, so it may not be a problem if I don’t get good at it. I had a good time with the members today. I cut Kurumi’s nails in the morning. It seems that the speed of nail growth is gradually slowing down.
今日は冬の寒さが戻ってきて、とても寒い一日でした。この寒さで桜の開花は遅れそうです。既に開花した地域では長く花を楽しめるようです。今年は気温の変化が激しくて体調を崩さないか心配です。私はカメラのレンズを替えてクルミくんの写真を撮ってみました。陽の光が強くなかったこともあり、今日の写真のほうが上手く撮れたようです。
Today was a very cold day with the return of the winter chill. This cold weather is likely to delay the blooming of cherry blossoms. I changed the lens on my camera and took some pictures of Kurumi. The sunlight was not strong, and today’s photo seems to have turned out better.
私はクルミくんの写真を毎日撮影しています。スマホで撮ると便利なのですが、今日はカメラで撮影してみました。どうしてもダイナミックレンジを考えるとスマホの方に軍配が上がってしまいます。カメラの設定が悪いのかも知れません。少しずつ、このカメラにも慣れないといけないです。北風が強い日でした。夕方になってから駅前の本屋まで本を買いに出かけました。有名な枝垂れ桜はまだ蕾が小さく、開花まではしばらくかかりそうです。

家を持つと、メンテナンスを欠かさずに行う必要があります。今日は風呂の残り湯を汲み上げる配管の洗浄を行いました。定期的に洗浄しないと洗濯物に汚れが移ってしまいます。組み上げの配管に洗浄液を溜めてからしばらく放置して、後から水道水を流して洗浄します。これでまたしばらく快適に使うことができます。クルミくんを連れて買い物に出かけました。妻は花の苗を買ってきて、早速庭仕事をしていました。
When I own a house, I need to keep up with maintenance. Today I cleaned the pipes that pump out the leftover bath water. If it is not cleaned regularly, dirt will be transferred to the laundry. After filling the assembled piping with cleaning solution, I leave it for a while and later flush it with tap water to clean it. Now I can use it again comfortably for a while. We took Kurumi out shopping. My wife bought some flower seedlings and immediately started working in the garden.
