インターネット回線の契約変更を申し込みました。これまで 1G だったものを 10G に変更してみます。いずれにしても複数の家庭で共有するのである程度の速度しか確保できませんが、新しい技術に触れていたい気持ちが大きく、工事をお願いしています。来月初旬には切り替わる予定です。これにともなって、ルーターも 10G 対応に変更しないと意味が無いのでまずは適当な機種を選択してみました。今日はそのルーターに置き換える作業をしていました。クルミくんは今日も相変わらず、元気に過ごしています。昼間は晴れていたのですが、午後から冷たい雨が降り始めました。夜は雪になるような予報が出ています。

In any case, I can only get a certain speed since it will be shared by several households, but I am very eager to stay in touch with the new technology and have asked for the installation. Today, I was working on replacing the router with the new one. Kurumi is doing well as usual today. It was sunny during the day, but cold rain started to fall in the afternoon. クルミくんは食いしん坊です。いつでもお腹が空いているのかも知れませんが、食事時間が近づくと「まだですか？」とでも言う目で訴えてきます。食欲があることは良いことだと思います。そして今日もよく寝ていました。今朝はとても寒く、庭の睡蓮鉢は凍っていました。氷の下で泳ぐ金魚はとても寒そうでした。

It was so cold this morning that the water lily pots in the garden were frozen. The goldfish swimming under the ice looked very cold.

今日は朝から気温が上がらない、とても寒い一日でした。天気予報では午後から晴れる予報が出ていましたが、雲が陽を遮っていました。正月に発生した能登地震により、多くの人が家を追われて過酷な生活を強いられていることが報じられています。私たちは暖かい部屋で過ごすことができますが、北陸地方はここよりももっと寒い地域なので心痛の思いです。クルミくんは寂しがりやに育ってしまい、私たちから離れると心配でたまらないようです。ソファーに座るとすぐに来て可愛らしい目で「膝に乗せて」と訴えています。

太陽光発電施設を設置して 2 年が経過しました。最初の年 2022 年は発電した電力を売るように設定してみました。昨年 2023 年は発電した電力を使う設定にしてその違いを比べてみました。電気料金は値上がりするのですが、発電した電力を売る価格は据え置かれてしまいます。結果、昨年は 20% 程度光熱費を少なくすることができました。発電した電力を使って、購入する電力を少なくする効果が出たようです。クルミくんは右足をつけて、左足を少し持ち上げておしっこをする姿勢ができるようになりました。昨日より今日、そして明日はもっと良くなることを希望しています。

妻が愛用している DVD プレーヤーが壊れてしまいました。ダビングができなくなって困っていたので、中古の部品をネット販売で購入して交換してみました。無事にダビングができるようになって喜んでいます。中古品ですが、当面は使えるようで安心しました。クルミくんは少しずつ右足を使うようになってきました。昨日、獣医に刺激を受けたのが効いているのかもしれません。

My wife’s favorite DVD player broke. She was having trouble dubbing, so I bought a used part from an online seller and replaced it. I am happy to say that she is now able to dub safely. Although it is a used part, I am relieved that it seems to be usable for the time being. Kurumi has gradually started to use his right leg. Perhaps the stimulation he received from the veterinarian yesterday is helping.

今日、クルミくんは定期検診を受けに獣医に診てもらう日でした。待合室で待っている間、診察室のドアが開くのを見つめていました。クルミくんが獣医に呼ばれると吠えて応えていました。右足の原因は坐骨神経にあるようです。ヘルニアの手術で挿入したネットの一部が神経に近いことが考えられるようです。この先、少し長く必要かも知れませんが、徐々に、脳からの神経が右足の先端まで通じていくことを願います。今日は成人の日で祝日でした。朝夕はとても寒い日でした。

When the vet called Kurumi, he responded by barking. The cause of his right leg seemed to be the sciatic nerve. It seems likely that part of the net inserted during hernia surgery is close to the nerve. It may take a little longer, but we hope that gradually, the nerve from the brain will be routed to the tip of the right leg. Today was Adult’s Day, a national holiday. The morning and evening were very cold.

今日、1月7日は七草粥を食べる日と言われています。青菜の摂取が不足しがちなこの時期に、しっかりと体に取り入れるためでもあり、さらに、お正月のごちそうで疲れた胃腸をいたわるためという説もあるそうです。私たちはいつもと変わらない朝食をいただきました。午前中は天気が良かったのですが、午後からは曇天となり気温も下がってきました。クルミくんは昨日の来客で少し疲れたのか朝遅くまで眠っていました。

私は今も新聞を購読しています。新聞屋から契約更新の依頼が来たのですが、この機会に購読を止めようかと思い始めました。誌面からの情報も良いのですが、今は他のメディアを通じて様々な情報を知ることができます。昨年新聞料金も値上がりしました。新聞屋の経営も大変だとは思いますが、今、悩んでいます。今日の誌面には PTSD のことが書かれていました。地震や航空機の事故を聞いて心を痛めている人が多いことでしょう。人と会話をして、思いを話すことも良い解決策だと書かれていました。今日はこれからテニススクールで知り合った友人を家に招いて新年会を行います。ホームパーティーをやるのは久しぶりです。クルミくんは私たちが近くにいると安心なので、みなさんに来ていただくことにしました。

It said that having a conversation with people and talking about our thoughts and feelings is a good solution. Today we are going to have a New Year’s party at my house with friends wife and I met at tennis school. It has been a long time since we have had a home party. Kurumi feels safe with us nearby, so we decided to invite everyone to come.

アメリカに住む友人から私たちを危惧するメッセージが届きました。1日に発生した地震と2日に起きた航空機事故は海外でも大きく報じられているようです。心配してくれることに感謝し、私たちは無事なことを報告しました。情報番組でもこれらのことが連日話題となっています。一刻も早く日常に戻ることを願うしかできません。クルミくんは今日も暖かい部屋でのんびりと過ごしていました。今日は少し小さめのベッドを使っています。その日その日で違うベッドが使えるクルミくんは幸せです。

毎年、送られてくる年賀状を楽しみにしています。年に一度の連絡となった人も多いのですが、近況を伝え合えることを大切にしています。住所が変わっている人もいます。今年で年賀状を終える人もいます。私は継続して年賀状を送ろうと思います。今日は仕事始めになります。パソコンを開いて短時間、業務をしました。クルミくんは陽が暖かい部屋でよく眠っていました。天気が良い日は夕方になっても部屋の中は温まっているので助かります。

Every year, I look forward to the New Year’s greeting cards that are sent to me. Although many of us contact each other only once a year, we cherish the opportunity to tell each other what is going on. Some people have changed their addresses. Some people will finish their New Year’s greeting cards next year. I will continue to send New Year’s greeting cards. Today is the first day of work. I opened my computer and worked for a short time. Kurumi was sleeping well in the room where the sun was warm. On a fine day, the room is warm even in the evening, which is very helpful.
