今朝も早くから起きたクルミはリビングで寝直してしまいました。クルミは何かに触れていないと安心しないようで、クッションの間に潜り込んで寝ていました。散歩にでようとした時、家の前で小さな蛇と遭遇しました。ここに住んで 20 年以上になりますが、蛇を見たのは初めてです。この先、天気が悪くなるという予報なので、庭の芝を刈ることにしました。芝には肥料を蒔いたのでクルミは庭に出るのは諦めです。湿度が高い今日は家の中でクルミと遊ぶことにしました。

When I was going out for a walk, I saw a small snake in front of my house. I’ve lived here for over 20 years, but it’s the first time I’ve seen a snake. Since it is forecast that the weather will be bad in this week, I decided to mow the lawn in the garden. Kurumi has given up going out to the garden because I have sowed fertilizer on the grass. Today, when the humidity is high, I decided to play with Kurumi at home.

2 年前に自分で取り付けたドライブレコーダーの位置を変更してみました。助手席のサンバイザーが干渉してしまっていました。気になっていたのですが、粘着テープを外すことを考えると手を出せずにいました。今朝、意を決して作業に取り掛かりました。今度は助手席のサンバイザーを下げても後方カメラに干渉することはありません。オープンになる私の車にとって、このドライブレコーダーは 1 台で前後両方の画像を撮影してくれるので重宝しています。ついでにカメラのファームウェアを最新版に更新しました。クルミは今日も早起きでした。よく遊んでよく食べて、早く寝てしまいました。

Kurumi got up early today as well. He played a lot, ate a lot, and fell asleep early.

今日も暑い日でした。梅雨入りはもう少し先になりそうです。数日暑い日が続いたので庭の草花にたっぷりと水を撒いてやりました。クルミは今日も早起きで、朝 4 時に起きてきました。私も一緒に起きて、昨日届いたメッセージの返信を書くことにしました。誕生日に多くの友人からメッセージが届くと嬉しくなります。アメリカに住む友人からは毎年、カードが送られてきます。手紙が添えられています。私も彼女の誕生日には手紙を送っています。年に数回の連絡なのですが、これからも大切にして生きていきます。

早起きしたクルミはリビングルームでまた眠ってしまいました。私は早朝の散歩をすることにしました。久しぶりに陽が昇るのを見ました。昨日の暑さが残っているようで、少し歩いていたら汗をかいてしまいました。今日は私の誕生日です。67 歳になりました。これまで健康にそして幸せに暮らせたことに感謝しています。今月、同じように 67 歳の誕生日を迎える妻と一緒に 2 年ぶりの人間ドックに行きました。医師からは二人とも合格点をいただくことができました。これまでありがとう、そしてこれからも。

昨日、今日と暑い日が続いています。散歩をしていて、木陰で休む猫を思わず写真に撮ってしまいました。クルミの写真を撮る時も思うのですが、カメラと目線を合わせてくれると嬉しくなります。クルミも私が毎日写真を撮るようになってから目線を合わせるようになってきました。以前はカメラが嫌いで目線を逸らせていたのですが、きっと諦めたのでしょう。明日も楽しく遊ぼうね。

今日は少し忙しい一日でした。でも、帰宅して庭を見た途端に疲れが消えました。年に一度、庭師の人が来て庭の木々を剪定してくれます。オリーブは多くの枝が整理されてさっぱりしました。ドウダンツツジは丸く綺麗に刈られました。私は芝生の手入れはできますが、木々の剪定はできません。庭師さんはバラも手入れしてくれました。クルミとの時間はあまり取れない日となってしまいました。食事の後、遊んでいたらクルミはすぐに眠ってしまいました。

今日は晴れ間が出てきた午後に散歩することにしました。紫陽花がきれいに咲いています。ご近所の庭や街路樹の根本などを見ていると歩いて行くのが楽しくなります。街路樹の根本の紫陽花はボランティアの方が手入れをされていました。感謝の気持ちを込めて挨拶させていただきました。紫陽花は種類や色が豊富です。育ちが早いので手入れが大変と聞いています。そんな理由で我が家にはありません。今日のクルミはいつもと違って甘ったれです。食事の後、寝ぐずっていました。5 分も抱っこしてやると眠ってしまいました。

今日は M さんのお宅でスマートフォン契約の手伝いをしました。これまで使ってこられた携帯電話からの乗り換えになります。最近は格安なキャリアがでてきたので携帯電話と同じか、それ以下の料金でスマートフォンを利用することができます。M さんと一緒にキャリアを比較検討し、機種を決めて注文、乗り換えの契約を済ませることができました。これらの作業が自宅でできました。わざわざ店頭に行く必要もなくて便利です。今度はスマートフォンが来たら、その使い方をサポートします。クルミは夏のベッドに入れ替えてもらってご機嫌です。今日もクルミは元気に遊んでいました。

It’s convenient because we don’t have to go to the store. Next time, when a smartphone arrives, I will support how to use it. Kurumi is happy to have the replacement with a summer bed today. Kurumi was playing well today as well.

昨夜、クルミは熟睡しました。今朝、起きてからも眠そうです。私たちが食事をしている間、カートの中でおとなしく眠っていました。今日は雨の一日、近くで買い物をして帰ることとしました。地方のスーパーマケットに行くと、珍しい食材を見つけることができます。今回、私たちはお米を買うことにしました。東京では買えないお米、美味しいことでしょう。高速道路で帰る途中、サービスエリアで一休みしました。ツバメの巣にはもう子ツバメの姿が見えました。
