今日も日差しが弱く、少し涼しい一日でした。午後は妻と一緒に庭仕事です。花壇に蔓延った雑草を取ったのですが、2 時間で疲れ果ててしまいました。綺麗になった庭にクルミを出してやることができました。クルミは久しぶりに外に出てご機嫌でした。 77 年前の今日 8 月 6 日、広島に原爆が投下されました。私が産まれるずっと前のことですが日本人として忘れてはいけない日です。決して繰り返されてはならないことです。

The sun was weak again today, and it was a slightly cool day. I work in the garden with my wife in the afternoon. We pulled weeds from a flowerbed, but after two hours we were exhausted. I was able to put out Kurumi in the garden that became beautiful. Kurumi was in a good mood to go outside for the first time in a while. 77 years ago today, August 6th, an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. It was long before I was born, but as a Japanese person, it is a day that I will never forget. It should never be repeated.

クルミはトリミングの日でした。顔の毛を切ってもらうのが怖いのか、トリマーさんを困らせるようです。次回は妻が同席することになりました。自我が強くなってしまったことと、トリマーさんにも慣れたことが原因かも知れません。帰宅してからはおもちゃで遊んで疲れて眠ってしまいました。近くの交差点の立体交差工事が進んでいます。昨夜下り線の架橋がかけられました。また、科学の話ですが、今年、新たな単位が誕生するそうです。こんなにも大きな、こんなにも小さな数字が必要になってきたのですね。

Kurumi got a trimming today. It seems to bother the trimmer whether Kurumi is afraid to have his facial hair cut. My wife will be with him next time. It may be the cause that his ego has become stronger and that he have become accustomed to the trimmer. After returning home, he was playing with toys and fell asleep. A grade-separated crossing construction is underway at a nearby intersection. Last night the outbound line was bridged. Also, speaking of science, it seems that some new units will be born this year. We need numbers this big and so small.

朝、強い日差しが無いと安心します。今日の気温は昨日よりも 10℃も低くなりました。しかし、湿度が高く、時々雨が降ってしまい、今日もクルミは家の中で遊んでいました。車の充電をしている間、畑の周りを歩いてみました。今年はとうもろこしが不作となっています。梅雨明け直後に猛暑日が続いたためかも知れません。異常気象現象が大きな災害をもたらしています。

I am relieved that there is no strong sunlight in the morning. Today’s temperature is 10 degrees lower than yesterday. However, the humidity was high and it rained from time to time, so Kurumi was playing inside the house today. While charging the car, I tried walking around the field. The corn crop is bad this year. It may be because the extremely hot days continued right after the end of the rainy season. Extreme weather events are causing major disasters.

朝から蝉の声がうるさく、今日も暑い一日でした。午後、通り雨があったのですが、少しの雨だったためか雨上がりは蒸し風呂の中にいるような空気に包まれてしまいました。暑さで消耗したエネルギーをうなぎで補充です。今夜は近くのレストランで鰻重をいただきました。クルミは今日も家の中で遊んでいました。

The cicadas were loud in the morning, and it was another hot day. It rained in the afternoon, but perhaps because it was a light rain, after the rain I was wrapped in the air of being in a steam bath. The energy consumed by the heat is replenished with eel. Tonight, I had eel on rice at a nearby restaurant. Kurumi was playing in the house again today.

日本の多くの地域で記録的な猛暑の日となっています。午後、寝室の温度計は 35℃を示していました。人感センサーを使った照明が点灯しないほど、家の中の温度が高くなりました。こんな日は朝からエアコンのスイッチは入れっぱなしになります。一方で、電力会社からは節電が呼びかけられていて、少し複雑な気持ちです。陽の光が強いのでクルミを外に出してやれません。でもクルミは外に行きたがって私を後追いします。この暑さはまだまだ続きそうです。

Many parts of Japan are experiencing record-breaking heat. In the afternoon, the thermometer in the bedroom showed 35°C. The temperature in the house became so high that the lights using the motion sensor did not turn on. On a day like this, the air conditioner switch will be left on from the morning. On the other hand, the electric power company is calling for power saving, and I have mixed feelings. The sun is so strong that I can’t let Kurumi out. But he wants to go outside and follows me. It looks like this heat will continue.

睡蓮鉢の金魚とは今年で 5 年一緒に暮らしています。すっかり私たちに慣れてきて、近付くと水面に来て餌をねだります。今日も猛暑の一日で朝から夜まで不快な暑さが家の中に居座っています。クルミは昨日の疲れもすっかり取れたようで私と一緒に早起きをしました。私が電話会議をしているときに甘えて吠えると困ってしまいます。仕方がないので膝の上でクルミの体を撫でてやりました。

I have been taking care the goldfish in the water lily bowl for 5 years. They have become accustomed to us, and when we get close they will come to the surface of the water and beg for food. It’s been a hot day today, and the uncomfortably hot weather lingers in my house from morning till night. Kurumi seems to have completely recovered from yesterday’s fatigue and got up early with me. If he bark when I’m on a conference call, I’m in trouble. I couldn’t help it, so I stroked Kurumi’s body on my knee.

今日も猛暑日となりました。クルミと一緒に私の息子を成田空港まで送りました。途中、お台場のレストランで昼食をとりました。夜便で帰る時はこのパターンです。買い物と昼食の間、クルミはペットホテルに預かってもらいます。車での移動でしたが、日差しが強く、クルミには辛い一日となってしまいました。帰宅してから涼しい部屋でのんびりと過ごしています。この暑さが早く終わることを願います。

It was another hot day today again. I sent my son to Narita Airport with Kurumi. On the way, we had lunch at a restaurant in Odaiba. This is the pattern when he is returning on a night flight. Kurumi had been kept at the pet hotel between shopping and lunch. We traveled by car, but the sun was strong and it was a tough day for Kurumi. After returning home, he spend his time relaxing in a cool room. I hope this heat will end soon.

今日も猛暑の一日でした。午後、日傘を差しながら少し歩いたのですが、とても暑いので直ぐに帰宅しました。それでも木陰の小道は涼しさを感じられて気持ちが良い時間を過ごせました。クルミは私の息子が来てくれたのでとても楽しそうでした。おもちゃで遊んでもらっていました。明日も今日以上に暑い日となるようです。クルミと一緒に息子を空港まで送っていきます。

It was another hot day today. In the afternoon, I took a short walk with a parasol, but it was so hot that I went home immediately. Still, I could feel the coolness of the path under the shade and had a pleasant time. Kurumi was very happy with my son’s visit. They were playing with a toy. It looks like tomorrow will be even hotter than today. I will take my son to the airport with Kurumi.

年始に LINE でやりとりした旧友たちと久しぶりにオンラインでの集まりを計画することにしました。気づくと半年も連絡を取り合っていなかったことに驚きます。直ぐに皆んなから応答があり安心します。気兼ねなく連絡が取り合える旧友に感謝です。今日は愛車の充電をしました。20% まで消費してみたのですが、近場を走っている間は全く不安を感じません。週末は息子を空港まで送っていくのでその準備です。隣ではテスラのオーナーが充電をしていました。電気自動車の所有者同士として少し会話できました。クルミはデザートに食べたスイカが気に入ったようです。今日も元気に遊んでよく眠っています。

I decided to plan an online gathering for the first time in a while with my old friends who communicated using LINE at the beginning of the year. When I noticed, I was surprised that I hadn’t been in contact for half a year. I am relieved that everyone responded immediately. I am grateful to my old friends who can keep in touch without hesitation. I charged my car today. I tried to consume down to 20%, but I don’t feel any anxiety while running in the vicinity. I will send my son to the airport on weekend, so I am preparing for it. Next to me, the Tesla owner was charging. I was able to have a little conversation as the owners of electric cars. Kurumi seems to like the watermelon he ate for dessert. He play well today and sleeps well.

道端に咲く鬼灯の花が色づいていました。まだ暑くなる前に散歩をしたのですが、湿度が高いので直ぐに汗をかいてしまいます。夕方、帰宅してからクルミと遊ぶことができました。今日も白いボールを咥えたり、体に擦り付けたりしていました。気づけば今日は木曜日です。一週間がとても短く感じられます。

The demon lanterns blooming on the roadside were colored. I took a walk before it got hot, but the humidity is so high that I sweat quickly. After returning home in the evening, I was able to play with Kurumi. He used to hold a white ball and rub it against his body today. If I notice, today is Thursday already. The week feels very short.
