今日も気温は低めの一日となりました。クルミと庭に出たのですが、寒いので直ぐに家の中に入ってしまいました。東京はコロナウィルスの新規感染者が増え続けていて、「まん延防止等重点措置」を適用することになりました。私の住む市も対象となり、来週の月曜から 1 ヶ月、この窮屈な思いが続くことになります。ニュースでは連日、このことを報じていて少しノイローゼになってきます。そんな時は庭に出て花を眺めています。薔薇が綺麗に咲きました。

It was a cold day today as well. I went out to the garden with Kurumi, but it was so cold then we immediately back to my house. The number of new coronavirus infections continues to increase in Tokyo, and it was announced to apply “priority measures such as prevention of spread”. The city I live in will also be applied, and this cramped feeling will continue for a month starting next Monday. The news reports this every day and it becomes a little neurotic. At that time, I go out to the garden and look at the flowers. The roses have bloomed beautifully.

コロナウィルスの感染者数がまた急増しています。大阪では東京を上回る人数の感染者が出ています。このままだと東京でも急増することが懸念されています。オリンピックの聖火リレーでは密を避けるように報道されていますが、実際には多くの人が集まってしまっています。マスクの着用率も低下しているようです。ワクチン接種がまだ先になる状況です。感染しない、感染させない努力を国民全員でしていかないといけません。今日もクルミと庭で過ごす時間が持てました。

The number of people infected with coronavirus is increasing again. There are more infected people in Osaka than in Tokyo. At this rate, there is concern that the number will increase rapidly in Tokyo as well. The Olympic torch relay has been reported to avoid the crowd, but in reality many people have gathered. It seems that the wearing rate of masks is also decreasing. Vaccination is still ahead. All the people must make an effort to prevent infection. I had time to spend with Kurumi in the garden today as well.

今日は散歩していて、とても気持ちが良い快晴の朝でした。いつも登る長い階段、天気によって辛く感じたり、楽に感じたりします。登りきって振り返ると青空と緑の木々が気分を楽にしてくれました。クルミは今日も元気です。夕方 6 時になると「もう食事の時間だよ」と言っているかのように催促を始めます。クルミには時間が分かるようです。

I was taking a walk today and it was a very pleasant and sunny morning. The long stairs that I always climb, and the weather can make me feel painful or comfortable. When I climbed up and looked back, the blue sky and green trees made me feel better today. Kurumi is fine today. At 6 pm, the reminder begins as if saying, “It’s time to eat.” Kurumi seems to know the time.

昨夜から気温が下がり、今日は一日を通して寒いくらいでした。こんな日、クルミは良く眠っています。ストーブの暖かさがありがたい日となりました。庭の芝生を見ると緑色が濃くなってきて、今年張り替えた芝も順調に伸びてきています。

The temperature has dropped since last night and it was cold all day long today. Kurumi has been sleeping well on such a day. The warmth of the stove was a thankful day. Looking at the lawn in the garden, the green color is getting darker, and the lawn that was renewed this year is growing steadily.

今朝はクルミが眠っている間に家を出て会社に行きました。週に一度の出社日でした。先週から入社された人との打ち合わせがありました。コロナ禍によって働き方が大きく変わったことを痛感しています。やはり、顔を見て直接話すことが私にはありがたいと感じます。仕事を終えて帰宅。今日はクルミとの時間は短い日でした。

This morning I left home and went to work while Kurumi was sleeping. It was a weekly work day. We had a meeting with a person who joined the company from last week. I am keenly aware that the way of working has changed significantly due to the coronavirus. I am grateful to see person’s face and talk directly. After work, I went home. Today was a short day with Kurumi.

この数週間、毎週末に天気が悪くなります。今日も午後から雨が降り始めました。この雨で桜も終わりになることでしょう。雨が降り出す前に庭仕事をしました。玄関のアプローチに出てきた雑草を取り除き、花の手入れをしました。作業をしている間、クルミは庭を物色、落ちていた金冠の実をかじり始めたので取り上げました。夕方、海外に住む家族からの Face Time、クルミも画面の向こう側の声に応えていました。

The weather has been bad every weekend for the past few weeks. It started to rain this afternoon as well. This rain will end the cherry blossoms may be. I worked in the garden before it started to rain. Weeds that appeared on the approach to the entrance were removed and the flowers were groomed. While working, Kurumi played in the garden. I stopped his picking up the fallen gold crown. In the evening, we received the Face Time from overseas families. Kurumi also responded to the voices on the other side of the screen.

クルミは庭で遊ぶのが日課になってきました。今日も庭に出て戻って来ようとしません。玄関を開けておくとしばらくすると帰ってきます。暖かくなった証拠です。睡蓮の葉もたくさん出てきました。今年も花を見るのが楽しみです。

It has become a daily routine for Kurumi to play in the garden. He went out to the garden today and not come back smoothly. If I leave the door open, he will be back in a while. It is the evidence of warmth now. A couple of water lily leaves came out. I am looking forward to seeing the flowers this year as well.

クルミは午前中、家で留守番でした。私たちが外出から戻るとクルミはおやつを催促します。「ちゃんと留守番できたよ」とでも言っているかのようです。午後は近所のモモちゃんが散歩の途中で寄ってくれました。クルミは昔、モモちゃんに追いかけられたことを覚えていて近寄ろうとしませんでした。そして今日もおもちゃで遊んで眠ってしまいました。

Kurumi needed stay at home in the morning. When we return from the outing, Kurumi asked us for a snack. It’s as if he was saying, “I was able to stay and keep properly.” In the afternoon, Momo-chan from the neighborhood stopped by during her walk. Kurumi remembered being chased by Momo-chan before and didn’t try to approach her. And today he played with toys and fell asleep as usual.

昨日から黄砂が多く舞っているようです。車の上に薄らと積もりました。目が痒いのも黄砂が原因かも知れません。朝の散歩は少しにすることとしました。お寺の枝垂れ桜はすっかり散って、葉桜となっています。クルミは庭に出るのが大好きで、いちごができていないかチェックするようになりました。まだ花の状態ですからいちごの実が成るのは少し先のことになります。

It seems that a lot of yellow sand has been coming since yesterday. It piled up thinly on the car. Itching in the eyes may also be due to yellow sand. I decided to take a short walk in the morning. The weeping cherry blossoms in the temple are completely gone and become leaf cherry blossoms. Kurumi loves to go out in the garden and comes to check for strawberries. Since it is still in the state of flowers, it will be a while before the strawberry fruit grows.

今日の昼間は初夏のような気温になりました。朝の散歩では散りゆく桜を眺めて楽しむことができました。クルミは私の手を舐めるのが日課になっていたのですが、ここ数日は食事の後も寝ていて寄ってきませんでした。久しぶりに昼食後、クルミは私の膝にきて手のひらを仕切りに舐めていました。午後、郵便配達でコロナワクチンの接種案内を受領しました。ここ八王子では 160,000 人が 65 歳以上の住民、それをまずは対象として予約を受け付けるようです。大きな一歩前進です。

Kurumi had a daily routine to lick my hands, but for the past few days he hasn’t come just sleeps after eating. After lunch today, Kurumi came to my lap and licked my palm for awhile. In the afternoon, I received a corona vaccine vaccination guide by mail delivery. Here in Hachioji, 160,000 people are 65 years old or older, and it seems that they will accept reservations first. It’s a big step forward.
