今年もジューンベリーの実が赤くなり始めました。小鳥が来ては啄むようになっています。私はテラスの人工芝を張り替える工事を自分でやってみました。黒くカビが生えてしまったので今回はスペーサーを置いて水捌けが良くなるようにしてみました。今まで使っていた人工芝の一部を再利用しています。3 時間の仕事でしたが、疲れ果ててしまいました。クルミくんは今日も元気です。明日から妻が旅行に出てしまうので、クルミくんと私の生活が始まります。

The Juneberry berries have started to turn red again this year. Little birds are coming and pecking at them. I did the work myself to replace the artificial grass on the terrace. It had become black and mouldy, so this time I placed spacers to improve drainage. It was a three-hour job and I was exhausted. Kurumi is doing well today. My wife is going on a trip from tomorrow, so Kurumi and I will start our life together.

クルミくんが深夜 3 時にトイレで起きたので、その世話をしていたら私は目が覚めてしまいました。クルミくんはその日によってトイレの時間が異なります。そのようなわけで寝不足の一日となりました。今日は明日の朝までよく寝るようにおもちゃで遊んで、疲れさせてやりました。さて、うまくいくでしょうか？

名優 N さんの訃報がテレビお報道番組で報じられました。81 歳での他界とか。このような知らせを知る度に自分のことを思ってしまいます。日本人男性の平均寿命は 81 歳と言われています。私も終焉を気にするようになってしまいます。そんな時、最近聞いた本では「終活」などに時間を使わずに生きている日々を精一杯楽しむことを薦めていた。そんなことを考えさせられた朝だった。クルミくんは昨日のトリミングで疲れたのか今朝も私たちが起こすまで眠っていました。

At that time, I recently heard a book recommending that people should enjoy their living days to the fullest without spending time on ‘end-of-life’ activities. It was a morning that made me think about that. Kurumi was probably tired from yesterday’s trimming, but he slept again this morning until we woke him up.

クルミくんはトリミングしてもらいさっぱりしています。今日も妻がトリマーさんと一緒にクルミくんが動かないようにしてトリミングを受けたようです。顔の周りにハサミが近づくと怖がってしまうようです。会社から帰ると電気ケトルの部品が届いていました。これで安心してお湯を沸かすことができます。新しい部品は空焚きを防止する安全設計になっていて助かります。

5 年前に購入した電気湯沸かしケトルが故障してしまいました。1 ℃単位で温度設定ができるのでコーヒーをドリップする時や緑茶を入れる時など便利に使ってきました。最近、設定した温度になってもヒーターが切れず、電源スイッチを押しても加熱し続ける現象が出るようになってしまいました。加熱器具なのでメーカーにこのことを報告したところ、無償で台の部分を交換してくれることになりました。これを返送して、調査に役立ててもらいたいと思います。クルミくんは今日も元気に過ごしています。朝、私たちが起こすまで眠っているようになりました。

クルミくんはひとりぼっちになるといつも扉の所で人が帰って来るのを待っています。そして、待ち疲れるとベッドで眠ってしまいます。今日も妻が外出した後、クルミくんはしばらく扉の所で妻が帰って来るのを待っていました。この状態になると私が相手をしても言うことを聞きません。ヨークシャテリアは我が強い犬種です。今日は一日、私は自宅で仕事をしていました。

Whenever Kurumi is alone, he sits by the door waiting for someone to come home. When he gets tired of waiting, he goes to bed and falls asleep. 都心のこの場所を訪れたのは何年ぶりになるか覚えていません。地下道を歩いていると以前とは変化がないように感じました。シンガポールから来ている友人と昼食を楽しむことができました。最近のビジネスについてなど話していると一緒に働いていた時のことを思い出しました。私が毎週「通訳」の授業を受けていることを話すと彼は「必要ないだろう」と驚いていました。私は頭を使うことが目的で通っていることを説明して彼は納得していました。帰宅するとちょうどクルミくんのご飯時間、今日も元気に遊んでたくさん食べていました。

I don’t remember how many years it has been since I visited this place in the city center. Walking through the underpass, it seemed unchanged from before. I enjoyed lunch with a friend who was visiting from Singapore. Talking about recent business reminded me of the time when we worked together. When I told him that I was taking a weekly “interpretation” class, he was surprised that I didn’t need it. I explained that I was there to use my head and he agreed. When I came home, it was just time for Kurumi’s dinner, and he was playing and eating a lot today.

今日は今シーズン初の芝刈りをしました。雑草も目立ってきたので一気に刈り取りました。これから芝刈りのシーズンが始まります。クルミくんは今日も元気に過ごしていました。のんびりとした時間を楽しむことができた土曜日でした。

会社からの帰り道、車ディーラーの N さんと会って近況を話し合ってきました。最初に N さんから車を紹介されたのは随分前のことになります。それ依頼、今の車まで紹介していただきました。営業担当として長い期間、話し相手になっていただいていることに感謝します。今でもまだ新車の納期は確約できない状況のようです。そして電気自動車を求める顧客が増えてきたことを知りました。お客様が増えて、今後の車に新しい技術が盛り込まれることを期待しています。クルミくんは今日も食欲旺盛、元気に過ごしていました。

I would like to thank Mr. N for being my sales representative for a long time. Even now, it seems that the delivery date of the new car is still not assured. Kurumi had a good appetite and was in good spirits today.

今日は妻の妹が遊びに来ました。クルミくんもお客様が来ると嬉しそうにしています。昼食は近くの中華料理店に行って食べました。とても美味しい料理を提供してくれるこの店が私たちの好みになっています。そして中華は人数が多いほど多くの味が試せるので良いものです。今日もクルミくんと一緒に過ごすことができました。

My wife’s sister came to visit today. Kurumi looks happy to have guests. We went to a nearby Chinese restaurant for lunch. This restaurant, which serves very good food, has become our favorite. And Chinese food is good because the more people we have, the more flavors we can try. We had a great time with Kurumi today as well.
