大学の授業がある日、晴れていると自転車で構内まで走って行きます。多くの学生たちが自転車で通っているようでとても広い自転車置き場があります。私はその片隅に停めて、少し歩くことにしています。晴れている朝はキャンパスの中を歩いていると気分が晴れます。授業は 20 問の単語試験から始まるのでキャンパスのベンチに座って最後の勉強をします。今日も 100 点満点を取ることができませんでした。クルミくんは夕ご飯を食べて歯磨きガムを噛むと直ぐに疲れて眠ってしまいます。

On days when I have classes at the university, I ride my bicycle to the campus when it is sunny. There is a very large bicycle parking area where many students seem to cycle. I park in one corner of it and walk a bit. On sunny mornings, walking around the campus makes me feel better. The class starts with a 20-question word test, so I sit on a bench on campus and study for the last time. I couldn’t get a perfect score today. Kurumi is tired and falls asleep as soon as he has eaten dinner and chewed his toothpaste gum.

クルミくんを連れて獣医に会いに行きました。クルミくんは毎月の検診と、年に一度のワクチン接種を受けてきました。先月の血液検査結果が出て、腎臓の機能が低下していることについて獣医と相談してきました。今は良い処方食があるので、それをこれからも摂取させることにしました。私は獣医に聞けなかったのですが、クルミくんの終焉はどのような状況を想定したら良いのか、という疑問を持っています。

We took Kurumi to see the vet. Kurumi has had his monthly check-up and annual vaccination. The results of last month’s blood tests came back and we discussed with the vet about his kidney function being low. He now has a good prescription diet and we have decided to continue to have him on that. I have not been able to ask my vet, but I have a question about what circumstances I should expect for Kurumi’s demise.

1975 年に卒業した同期の友人たちと都心で会ってきました。今日は 6 人全員が集まることができて楽しい一時を送ることができました。1 人は北海道からリモート参加でしたが、カラオケ店の大画面スクリーンを通しての参加でした。今年 70 歳になることを記念して全員で北海道に行くことを約束して別れました。今年の秋の旅行計画を始めました。クルミくんは今日も元気に遊んで、たくさん食べて、そしてよく眠っていました。

I met with my classmates we graduated in 1975 in central Tokyo. All six of us were able to get together today and had a good time, one of us remotely from Hokkaido, but through a big screen in a karaoke bar. We parted with a promise that we would all go to Hokkaido to celebrate our 70th birthdays this year. We started planning this year’s autumn trip. Kurumi played well, ate a lot and slept well today.

庭のジュンベリーの実を食べに鳥が来ています。ジュンベリーの実は短期間に熟して鳥たちの餌となっています。私は友人が奏でるフルートの音色に包まれる時間を楽しむことができました。彼とは以前の会社で一緒に働きました。2 時間の演奏会はあっという間に過ぎ去ってしまいました。久しぶりにクラシック音楽を堪能することができました。クルミくんは服を汚してしまい、少しの間、裸のままでした。

Birds come to feed on the Juneberry berries in the garden. The Juneberry berries ripen for a short time and provide food for the birds. I enjoyed the time spent with the sound of my friend playing the flute. He and I worked together at a previous company and the two-hour concert flew by. It had been a long time since I had enjoyed classical music. Kurumi had soiled his clothes and remained naked for a little while.

今日は長い時間を Microsoft Power Apps というアプリケーションを使って仕事のやり方を変えてみようと模索していました。ほぼ、完成に近づいた時に、最後の動作を確認したら、どうしても動かないことに気づきました。Copilot という AI に質問して解決策が無いことがわかりました。本には、可能な機能は記載されていますが、できないことは書かれていません。こんな時 AI の助けは有力でした。クルミくんは今日も元気に遊んでいます。

I spent a long time today exploring changing the way I work with an application called Microsoft Power Apps. Almost, when I was close to completing it, I checked the last action and realised that it just wouldn’t work, so I asked an AI called Copilot and found that it didn’t have a solution. The book describes possible functions, but not what it can’t do. The AI’s help was influential in such a situation. Kurumi is playing well today.

今朝は私たちが起こすまでクルミくんは熟睡していました。不思議なことは、犬は起きた途端にちゃんとして目を覚まします。寝ぼけることはないのでしょうか？クルミくんも起きるとすぐに嬉しそうに動き回っていました。

This morning, Kurumi slept soundly until we woke him up. The strange thing is that the dog wakes up properly as soon as he wakes up. Does he never sleepwalk? As soon as Kurumi woke up, he was moving around happily also.

旅行から帰ってきた妻を迎えに夕方、近くの駅までクルミくんと行ってきました。妹と二人で楽しい時間を満喫してきた妻はどこか嬉しそうでした。そして、クルミくんも大喜びです。私は仕事で忙しかったのでクルミくんと遊ぶ時間が短かったので、きっと欲求不満だったと思います。また日常が帰ってきました。

I went with Kurumi to the nearby train station in the evening to pick up my wife after she returned from her trip. She had enjoyed a good time with her sister, looked somewhat happy. And Kurumi is also very happy. I was busy with work, so I didn’t have much time to play with Kurumi, so I’m sure he was frustrated. Daily life came back again.

この記事を書く時間になるといつも思うのですが、時間が過ぎ去る速さに驚きます。今日もこの時間になってしまいました。今日、私は何を学び、成長できたのか、と反省する時間です。夕方から風雨が強くなってきました。明日は妻が帰って来る日、晴れると良いのですが。クルミくんは今日も元気にしていました。

Whenever it is time to write this article, I am always amazed at how fast time flies by. It is that time again today. It is time to reflect on what I have learnt and grown today. The wind and rain have been getting stronger in the evening. Tomorrow is the day my wife comes home, and I hope it will be sunny. Kurumi was doing well today.

台風 1 号が発生しました。今年もまた台風が発生する度にその進路が気になる季節がやってきます。まだ距離があるのですが、明日からは前線が刺激されて天気が悪くなるようです。この先数日、台風が行き過ぎるまで心配な日が続きます。今日は一日、クルミくんの側で仕事をしていました。クルミはほとんどの時間ベッドで眠っています。時々起きてくるので遊んでやりました。今日も元気に過ごしています。

Typhoon No. 1 has formed. Every time a typhoon occurs again this year, its path becomes a matter of concern. Although it is still some distance away, the weather is likely to worsen from tomorrow as the front is stimulated. The next few days will be worrying until the typhoon passes over. Today I spent the whole day working by Kurumi’s side. Kurumi sleeps in bed most of the time. Sometimes she wakes up, so I played with her. He is doing well today.

クルミくんとだけの時間が始まりました。妻は朝早く出かけて九州地方の旅に出ています。あいにく天気は下り坂のようですが、妹と二人の旅は楽しいことでしょう。時には家事から離れてのんびりとした時間を楽しんでもらいたいと思います。今日はクルミくんをソファーに上がらせないようにしました。彼はソファーに上がれないのですが、飛び降りてしまいます。クルミくんの背丈より高いので降りる時に足を痛めないか心配です。

Time has started to spend just with Kurumi. My wife left early in the morning for a trip to the Kyushu region. Unfortunately, the weather seems to be going dow, but I’m sure she and her sister will enjoy their trip. Sometimes I want her to get away from the housework and enjoy a relaxing time. Today, I did not allow Kurumi to get up on the sofa. He can’t get up on the sofa, but he jumps off. It is taller than Kurumi, so I am worried that he might hurt his legs when he down.
