He and his wife I met when I worked for six months at an institute in upstate New York. At that time, they were running a Japanese restaurant near the institute, and they were very kind to me. That was 43 years ago. I used to try to see them whenever I had a chance to make a business trip to the U.S., but I have not had a chance to visit them since they moved from New York to Tennessee. Although we only have a letter once a year, it is a good opportunity for us to let each other know that we are both doing well.
